Group Financial Controller - Real Estate Investment Firm (15-25 yrs)

We are currently assisting a Privately held real estate development & servicing conglomerate to identify a Group Financial Controller to be based out of Dubai, UAE.

The Group is a privately held real estate development and service related group established in the last decade and headquartered in Dubai, UAE. It is considered as the most innovative, successful and premium development brand in the Gulf region, conceptualizing and creating real estate assets with a combined gross realization of around AED 15 Billion.

The Group undertakes investment, development and asset management across a broad spectrum of property assets, providing sustained value and tangible, measurable benefits to all stakeholders involved, including shareholders, buyers and the community.

The Group's international, experienced and multi-disciplinary team is the best in the industry. They have the unique capability of identifying and capitalizing on real estate, retail, hospitality and leisure sectors in the Middle East when and wherever they exist.

The Role :

The Group is looking to identify an Group Financial Controller reporting into the CEO & CFO of the Group. The role will be based out of Dubai in UAE. The incumbent will be responsible for planning, directing and monitoring all revenue and expenses for the Group. Responsible for ensuring that all financial reports adhere to the Group's policies and the regulatory requirements.

The Responsibilities :

- Ensure comprehensive financial systems and procedures are established and maintained in order to provide appropriate levels of security and control over the Group's resources and operations.

- Prepare the Group's budgets and forecasts. Liaise with all departments to gather the necessary budget input and ensure the budgets are updated as required by management.

- Prepare financial projections in support of the Group's overall Business Plan.

- Conduct reconciliation of the Group's financial position in terms of cost, income, profit and loss accounts and balance sheet.

- Conduct regular monthly reconciliations of Project Costings and profitability against Budgets and Forecasts

- Review and monitor the expenditure process proactively. Suggest procedural changes necessary to ensure that errors are logged and corrected.

- Ensure that periodic regulatory project audits are prepared accurately and submitted to RERA/applicable authorities.

- Prepare and review interim and annual financial statements.

- Coordinate with public relations for publishing the Group's annual report if required.

- Liaise with external and internal auditors (if applicable) and provide financial data as requested by the auditors.

- Assist the Group's borrowing, renewals and any other Bank related activities as required.

- Manage the introduction of VAT and ensure returns are made on time, payments are made on time and all relevant regulations are complied with.

- Identify and implement new technology solutions to increase the productivity in the department and provide higher quality management information for the CEO, CFO and the Executive Management Committee members.

- Maintain and control the accounting records of the Group's subsidiaries.

- Prepare / review monthly MIS reports on key performance indicators for the CEO and CFO and also prepare / review various MIS reports including daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by the CEO and CFO.

- Agree performance objectives for all subordinates and assist the HR Department to undertake performance appraisal and Training Need Analysis (TNA) for each employee in the department.

- Undertake such other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO and CFO from time to time.

The Candidate :

Educational Qualifications

- Post Graduation Degree in Financial Accounting or related subject

- Professional certifications such as CPA / CIMA / ACA / ACCA preferred.

- Proficiency in Arabic desirable

Experience

Over 5 years of relevant experience in a Senior Financial position focusing on managing the financial and accounting activities (over 15 years total)
