DIRECTOR OF MARKETING  - The Director of Marketing will lead the organization's global marketing function, encompassing marketing communications, consumer/market insights and innovation.  - This person will lead brand development for Sun King™ across the firm’s global markets, working closely with Greenlight's sales leadership and global channel partners across 20+ countries to formulate Sun King’s™ value proposition and identity. This person will develop communications strategies tailored to fit target markets in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia and mobilize these strategies by working closely with Greenlight's in-house sales force and external channel partners to oversee brand activitation execution.  - The Director of Marketing will work closely with technology leaders to drive Greenlight's consumer and market innovation portfolio and serve as the organization's consumer insights knowledge center. This role involves a high degree of strategic decision-making and rigorous market research related to social impact, consumer buying behaviors, brand satisfaction and new market opportunities.  THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:  1. At least 8 years in high-level strategic marketing or brand manager roles within East Africa or India. We’re looking for demonstrated creative and entrepreneurial strengths leveraging deep consumer understanding to design and drive mass-market, consumer-focused communications strategies and go to market plans.  2. Strong analytical market research experience. Demonstrated experience using statistical models and data-based reasoning to design market research and deliver useful quantitative and qualitative insights  3. Stellar written communication skills. Fluency in Kswahili or Hindi preferred.  4. Strong, structured project management skills.   The position involves 8-12 days of travel per month to Greenlight’s operations within India and Africa.  ABOUT GREENLIGHT PLANET  Greenlight Planet is on a mission to revolutionize rural energy access for the 1.5 billion off-grid villagers who use dirty, dangerous kerosene lanterns for light. But in thousands of villages where our Saathis operate, >30% of households have purchased our product and given up kerosene lighting forever.   Today 6,000 active Saathis bring clean, safe light to > 40,000 new off-grid homes each month. We're now expanding our distribution network from three states to the whole of rural India and East Africa, an under-penetrated market of half a billion emerging consumers.
