Goldman Sachs - Finance Controller - Investment Accounting - CA/CPA

The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analysis of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. The Investment Accounting team performs the accounting and reporting functions under local as well as USGAAP for the firm's investments in various real estate, loan and private equity portfolios. This role requires extensive liaison with the desks, Risk Management Group, Operations, Compliance, Legal, Tax as well as with colleagues in Controllers. The function has become increasingly technical in content and offers a challenging and interesting role, which would suit dynamic, bright and ambitious individuals with a drive to succeed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare monthly/quarterly/ annual financial accounts closing for multiple entities as per local and USGAAP requirements and disclosures;

- Provide variance analysis for such FS

- Basic knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS (preferred)

- Manage quarterly Balance sheet substantiation and SOX process

- Support intercompany balances, reconciliations, payments etc

- Coordinate year end audits

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of experience post qualification.

- CA/ CPA qualification with strong accounting knowledge

- Basic excel and MS office skills essential

- Accuracy and attention to details

- Candidate must be team oriented and proactive

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- USGAAP accounting / disclosure knowledge is a plus

- Prior experience with JD Edwards or PeopleSoft accounting systems is a plus
