Director, HR and Administration, Be! Schools (Going to School)

Location : New Delhi

Minimum work experience : 5 years

Background : Master's Degree in Human Resources Management or general management

Going to School (GTS) is an award winning creative not-for-profit education trust that creates design-driven stories to empower all children with the skills they need to participate in the world around them, solving poverty, unemployment, and inequality.

Through its Be! Schools program, entrepreneurial skills are imparted to government school children through the art of story telling with the help of books designed by GTS. School teachers are trained by GTS to impart these skills. GTS's curriculum has been widely recognised and has also been included in NCERT at the national level. GTS is working closely with the Government of Bihar and Jharkhand. GTS has an MoU to work in 3,000+ Government schools by 2018.

The founder of GTS is an Ashoka fellow, TED fellow and Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum with experience of working with UNICEF as a communications consultant. The COO has extensive experience of having worked with the research arm of Pratham, ASER. GTS's collaborators include Star TV, Dasra, USAID, Nike Foundation, MacArthur Foundation and Google.

Who we're looking for :

- You will be responsible for ensuring all the administrative processes are in place, creating HR strategies and policies, identifying the need of the programs and linking the same with recruitment strategy.

- You will formalize talent management, recruitment processes and policies and define clearly how the different teams/verticals would engage with each other.

- You will report to and work closely with the CEO and COO, and hence, have a unique opportunity to shape the growth of GTS.

You will :

- Identify tie ups for recruitment purposes and engage stakeholders

- Integrate best induction methods into GTS's model

- Be responsible for ensuring that employees and managers follow the appropriate process for performance reviews.

- Define and implement a plan for professional development based on defined competencies.

- Develop overall strategy for professional development and facilitate trainings and executive coaching.

- Regularly benchmark GTS's compensation and policies against other players in both the non-profit and corporate space and recommend changes accordingly.

- Ensure employee engagement activities are in alignment with and designed to build culture at GTS

- Have a pulse on employee satisfaction and identify forums through which people can share with HR.

- Analyse engagement survey and share key priorities with Senior Management.

- Advise upon and define new policies such as work from home, emergency leave, etc. to ensure that GTS remains competitive with other employers.

- Ensure administrative processes are efficient and effective

- Create, update and implement policies and processes related to administration

You have :

- Outstanding communication and inter-personal skills.

- The ability to work with and inspire middle management to bring in expertise and recommend options

- Excellent organizational, time management and project management skills

- The ability to adapt and work in a young and multi-cultural team

- The ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making capabilities.

- Demonstrated, outstanding level of professionalism, including ability to exercise good judgment, discretion, tack and diplomacy.

- Advanced knowledge of popular computer applications, such as, Microsoft Office, (MS Word, Excel,

- PowerPoint, Access) and new social networking application

You will preferably have :

- Experience with the development sector specifically the education sector.

- Experience working in a dynamic environment.

You are a solid team builder and team player with proven ability to manage competing priorities, perspectives and stakeholder needs.
