Godrej Industries - Deputy General Manager - Market Research (6-10 yrs)

This position is with the Strategic Marketing Group of Godrej Industries Ltd.

In this role, you will be responsible for co-ordination with the research agencies on all qualitative research commissioned by the group, go through the qualitative research reports of the agencies for comprehensiveness as well as depth of insights as well as intelligently summarizing the qualitative research reports received from the agencies and drawing up true insights for the leadership team.

YOUR ROLE SPECIFICATIONS

- Working with external partners including research agencies and analytics firms in generating insights on business related issues for the Godrej MasterBrand as well as for individual businesses within the Godrej group including

- Creation of ‘issues to be addressed document’ and potential scoping of ‘insight generation approach’

- Evaluation and selection of business partner for working on the problem / issue to be addresses

- Finalizing design and insight generation areas with partner

- Quality assessment of business partner in terms of their insight generation actions

- Working with the partner in generating clear and actionable insights

Primary responsibility for Synthesizing, distilling and Crystallizing insights for specific business related issues across a variety of sources (including secondary research, primary insight generation studies and expert interviews) – with these insights needing to be sharp and incisive in terms of business action needed to address the issue (whether it is overcoming problems or taking advantage of potential opportunities).

Significant focus on guiding business partners (especially in the area of qualitative research) as well as ensuring highest quality of work from business partners including:

- Planning the design for qualitative studies

- Providing significant feedback to business teams for selection of right partners

- Ensuring appropriateness of design and discussion guide / insight generation process to chosen partner

- Attending actual focus groups / Depth interviews to gain insights on consumer needs / reactions as well as assessing quality of discussion / probes

- Discussing analysis structure with agency along with desired insight areas

- Going through content analysis created by agencies and giving inputs for insight creation / reporting

- Ensuring correctness of insights created and also sharpness in flow of report to ensure clarity in understanding by internal business teams

- Distilling /Synthesizing / Crystallizing the findings into specific actions needed based on ‘outcomes from the study’

QUALIFICATION

- Post Graduate in management from a reputed management school

- Minimum of 5 + years work experience in marketing experience (with at least 3 of them having been in a brand management role) or 5 + years in Account Planning in an advertising agency or 3 - 4 years in a well-known business consultancy firm – with the candidate having a fair level of personal experience in interacting with research organizations, especially in the area of qualitative research.
