We have an urgent job opportunity for GM / Sr GM - IT Infrastructure based at Mumbai with a leading pharmaceutical industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Designation - GM/Sr GM - HEAD OF IT INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES - OPERATIONS

Brief Description

Reporting to the CIO, the Head of IT Infrastructure Services - Operations will manage the IT Infrastructure Team in the day-to-day operations of a global 24/7 production environment, including but not limited to servers, networks, DC/DRs, telephony, service desk, and workplace services. The primary goal of the Infrastructure Team is to deliver a high performing and highly reliable technical infrastructure service in support of organization business objectives.

Responsibilities:-

With a focus on these imperatives, the responsibilities of this position include:

1. Serve as a member of the CIO's Senior Leadership Team accountable for the enterprise layer of organization IT infrastructure, ensuring interoperability and responsiveness to business needs.

2. Manage the global IT infrastructure team: Servers, Storage, Telephony, Networking and Service Management; set goals, prioritize projects, communicate with stakeholders and oversee budgets.

3. Define the overall mission of the Infrastructure Services team.

4. Work with IT leadership, Senior Management, business leaders, and decision-makers to define and implement a Strategic Plan for the portfolio of all IT infrastructure, integration tools, and technologies; and articulate them to team members and other associates.

5. Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of the company's infrastructure, bringing current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices (e.g., ITIL) related to the needs of the business.

6. Establish metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT shared service delivery.

7. Participate in the IT Strategy Deployment and budget processes.

8. Support the delivery of infrastructure projects for the organization and provide consultation on the impact to business and application portfolios.

9. Maintain knowledge of industry-wide IT infrastructure / architecture standards and practices.

10. Bring an infrastructure and integration perspective to all IT initiatives and ensure that all program and project activities adhere to IT architectural standards and practices.

11. Implement objective performance metrics for continual monitoring of progress against enterprise objectives.

12. Manage, monitor and review the relationships with vendors and ensure that high levels of service are received and maintained.

13. Establish and maintain positive relationships with strategic partners and with internal developers of architecture components.

14. Oversee monitoring of all servers, networks, nodes and databases to ensure proper security, efficient utilization, allocation and user access.

15. Develop service level agreements with vendors and business users.

16. Manage vendor relationships for technology components of the architecture.

17. Research best practices around pharmaceutical and other industry technologies and their relevance.

18. Train and disseminate architectural standards, guidelines, and direction throughout the global IT organization.

Required Skills

1. Extensive knowledge of server management, telecommunications, network engineering, client/server as well as cloud computing, and production operations support.

2. Experience in related IT disciplines such as data processing, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications, database administration and outsourced systems.

3. Demonstrating critical thinking and planning at a strategic, global level. Ability to translate strategic plans into specific objectives, and to create and execute project plans to achieve objectives.

4. Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

5. A deep understanding of the interdependent relationship between infrastructure, information security and the applications/services they enable as well as the criticality of maintaining strong connections between the respective teams within IT.

6. Persuasive, professional communication style. Capable of communicating complex, technical topics to a wide variety of audiences. Ability to interact with senior management and influence decision makers.

7. Flexibility to adapt to rapidly changing conditions and priorities, and to redirect managers and teams toward new objectives.

8. Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary nature of IT solutions.

9. Experience handling a IT Infrastructure Shared Services set-up

10. Ability to see the "big picture" across such areas as private and public hosted infrastructure and services, identity management, security, telecommunications, enterprise storage and big data opportunities, end user experience, and training/education.

11. Ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.

12. Must have strong organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities and excellent written and spoken communication skills.

Education & Experience

College degree in technology related major preferred. Post graduate degree preferred. At least 15+ years of experience leading technical IT teams including 5+ years of experience in managing multiple, medium to large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders in designing and applying technology to produce integrated, enterprise-wide solutions in a highly regulated industry.
