Position Title : Senior Legal Counsel

Department : Legal

Location : Corporate

Reporting To : Chief Legal & Regulatory Affairs Officer

Job Specification :

- The individual will be Responsible for drafting and negotiations of commercial, operational, technology & IP transactions, contracts. General legal advisory.

- Strong background on transactional drafting.Reviews the legal aspects ensuring compliance and business results

- Draft, negotiate and close a wide variety of complex commercial transactions.

- Representative matters include Service Level Agreements of long term nature, software license agreements, dealer agreements, development and distribution agreements, joint marketing agreements, technology vendor agreements and facilities and real estate agreements.

Advise on the risk mitigation of legal issues. :

The candidate must have significant experience in :

- Commercial/operational contracts -

- Consumer and regulatory laws

- Technology and IP issues

- Some experience in litigation

Must have sound knowledge of :

- Foreign Investment & Industrial Licensing Regulations

- Company Law

- FEMA

- Intellectual Property Laws

- Consumer Protection Laws

- Property Laws

- Law of Contracts

- Competition Law

- Industrial and Labour Laws

- Civil & Criminal Procedure Codes

- Direct & Indirect tax laws

- Constitution of India

Education: A degree in law, preferably from one of the National Law Schools or a University of equal repute offering 5 year programme

Experience : Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in the television / telecommunications / technology / IT practice of a leading law firm Or the respective Industry as an In House Counsel
