Global Engineering Head - Hydrocarbons Midstream/Downstream (20-25 yrs)

Our client Hydrocarbon delivers design-to-build world-class solutions in the Engineering & Construction space for the oil and gas sector. Capabilities include in-house engineering, R&D centres, engineering joint ventures with reputed international companies, offshore installation, world-class modular fabrication, experienced and competent project execution and a safety-oriented work culture.

The Company is geared to address high-value projects in the GCC through bidding for turnkey projects based on its integrated EPC capabilities and also through other strategic combinations such as a consortium model with leading EPC players. Our client Hydrocarbon is structured into three Strategic Business Groups (SBGs): Hydrocarbon Upstream Hydrocarbon Mid & Downstream (HMD) Hydrocarbon Construction & Pipelines (HCP). Hydrocarbon Upstream provides EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning) solutions covering the entire value chain of offshore & onshore oil & gas, encompassing drilling rigs, offshore platforms and subsea pipelines. Its business portfolio includes well-head platforms, process platforms and modules, subsea pipelines, brown-field development, floating systems and deep water subsea systems, Chemical Plants and gas processing, refineries, fertilizers, petrochemicals etc.

Desired Profile:

- Qualification: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a premium institution and Post Graduate

- Experience: 25 years & above

- Nationality: Any Nationality

- Ideal Profile: Senior level person with excellent Engineering knowledge of EPC and Hydrocarbons sector and truly international experience and outlook.

- Should have led Engineering teams

Key Responsibilities:

- Primary focus of the Individual will be to identify and develop potential opportunities & customers globally for engineering services, specifically in the HMD space of Hydrocarbon Business. As a byproduct he will also support the organization to market the engineering services for other Hydrocarbon Businesses like Upstream and HCP.

- Drive organic growth and developments through new Engineering services, customers and markets Globally based on balance of strategic benefit (medium and longer term) and rigorous financial analysis.

- Identify major commercial opportunities and position the business to be able to both bid and win such work in the region.

- Ensure top-line and bottom-line goals are met and optimize utilization of physical and financial resources and add efficiencies to deliver timely and cost efficient projects.

- Provide direction in creating the macro and micro planning for all the projects.

- Provide advice on contracts prior to sign-off to enable quality of contracts.

- Identify options to create capabilities and expertise in Conceptual Engineering.

Background of individual:

- Should have strong knowledge Hydrocarbon specifically into HMD.

- Should have strong engineering acumen, problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.

- Should be strong in Business Building skills and Network with Inter-national customers especially decision makers in international and local Oil and Gas Companies.

- International exposure, ideally in at least one international location with complex and challenging business dynamics.

- Has worked in or with different cultures; can succeed in a multi-cultural working environment.

- Should possess successful track record of driving rapid growth and geographical expansion.

- Should possess track record of building an organization with a delivery focused, performance based culture. Experience in strategic development and large growth projects (organic and inorganic).

- Should possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.

- Must be able to manage the subordinates within the organization and external interface.

- Must be capable to establish excellent business networking skills.

- Must be intellectually sharp and clearly capable of thinking on his/her feet while demonstrating sound business judgment and leadership in execution.

- Should have successful track record of driving rapid growth and engineering excellence.

- Track record of building an organization with a delivery focused, performance based culture.

- Experience in strategic development and large growth projects (organic and inorganic).

- Diverse international (especially emerging markets) experience would be highly advantageous.
