Category Buyer - Logistics Procurement  JOB PURPOSE/KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :  Assist the development, management and implementation of comprehensive strategies in alignment with GSK and Procurement to deliver agreed savings targets and other benefits that significantly impact GSK financial results for the purchase of logistics services.  Assist the development and management of the external GMS supply chain providing supply of high quality and competitively priced services, to meet GSK requirements for logistics spend   Work with the cluster (Cluster Head, Commodity Teams) to ensure that spend that can be managed within the cluster is done so at that level  Help develop strategies delivering business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, regulatory, service, cost and innovation.   Implement initiatives and programs to improve quality of services and reduce lead times.  Ensure security of service and effective risk management.  Deliver excellence in customer service.  Ensure regulatory compliance.  Provide best in class cost   Maintain effective communication and relationship development with other procurement personnel.  ACCOUNTABILITY :   Additionally role must :  - Ensure all customer / stakeholder requirements are being met in a timely and efficient manner  - Create, establish and maintain optimum supplier relationships to meet business targets.  - Protect GSK revenue streams by managing supply security through robust risk management process.  - Achieve lowest sustainable cost of goods and services.  - Ensure supplier compliance with GSK safety, health, human rights, environmental and quality requirements.  - Responsible for resolving disputes with support from relevant stakeholder / department   COMPLEXITY :   Necessary to build relationships with key suppliers including regular business reviews with senior management to ensure GSK requirements are met.  Work across region with other Shared Service clusters/hubs to develop common ways of working and strategies to deliver customer satisfaction  SPECIALISED KNOWLEDGE :   Basic Requirements :  Relevant procurement experience in Logistics procurement i.e. Transportation (Ambient, Cold & Cool chain). Warehousing, capital buying, infrastructure up gradation etc.   Knowledge of relevant local and regional supply markets.  Knowledge of Pharma industry .  Close business relationships with typical supplier network   Understanding of logistics business processes and purchasing requirements  Seeking to raise levels of performance by establishing an improvement process, or setting specific, measurable targets and goals linked to GSK business needs.   Good verbal and written communication skills.
