General Manager - Manufacturing (12-20 yrs)

Key Management Responsibilities :

Strategic :

- Establish and implement departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with board members, organization officials, and staff members as necessary.

- Monitor market conditions, product innovations, and competitors' products, prices, and sales.

Operations :

- Business Development, Key account management for a B2B business with a strong commitment to safety at production facility

- Oversee Sales team towards attracting prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders.

- Recommend products to customers, based on customers' needs and interests.

- Consult with clients after sales or contract signings to resolve problems and to provide ongoing support.

- Identify prospective customers by using strategic initiatives and playing a leadership role in industry specific organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.

- Oversee Production activities directly related to making products or providing services and ensuring highest levels of safety practices

- Direct and coordinate activities of businesses or departments concerned with the production, pricing, sales, or distribution of products.

- Plan and direct activities such as sales promotions, coordinating with other department heads as required.

Financial :

- Direct and coordinate organization's financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments, and increase efficiency.

- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.

- Determine goods and services to be sold, and set prices and credit terms, based on forecasts of customer demand.

- Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, representing management in purchase negotiations.

The Ideal Candidate Should be :

- From Chemical (non-pharma) background, preferably in the B2B business with both domestic and international experience

- Well versed on legal and compliance related aspects as well as have strong knowledge of EHS processes

- Very strong on organizing, planning, delivery and resource management

- Strong on managing Production & Quality Management Processes and should have led a manufacturing plant in his career from overall production management perspective

Technical/Functional Knowledge :

- Administration and Management : Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

- Customer and Personal Service : Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

- Personnel and Human Resources : Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

- Sales and Marketing : Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.

- Production and Processing : Technical Knowledge of Chemicals production systems, Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
