Leading Retail Furniture Company in Hyderabad.

Position Description :

Function : Design

Location : Hyderabad

Designation : Head - Design

Accountability :

- Responsible for end-to-end space planning and designing. Single point of contact for all design related matters in the company.

Major Deliverables :

- Work to a brief agreed with a client. Handle client calls and prepare daily report

- If need be, visit site to take site measurements before drafting initial design, Maintain proper records of site measurements, layout designs, textures, paints, etc.

- Manage entire design team to make sure deadlines are met while adhering to design quality standards

- Prepare cost estimates, sketches, layouts, specifications and other criteria pertinent to project development

- Make presentations to present complete scope of work to client. Suggest various designs, colour schemes and furniture

- Account for cost and availability of materials and safety implications

- Give estimated deadlines to reporting manager and supervise the design team to carry out the same

- Prepare models/designs/layout of the project and ensure the design is finalised before handing it over to execution team. Make sure design can be manufactured/executed

- Supervise the work of senior designers, designers and assistant designers on assigned projects. Review the work done by the designers periodically to ensure timely completion of projects

- Carry out research to help develop ideas, considering how the item will look and its practicality/ functionality. Test ideas using models, prototypes and computer-aided design (CAD)

- Work closely with other professionals such as production managers, marketing staff and site engineers

- Enhance technical knowledge and skills regularly adding value to business. Suggest technological advancements to the management.

- Stay informed about design trends and developments using vendors and other sources

- Follow standard operating procedures and give inputs to revise them periodically.

Reports to : AVP/ VP Retail sales
