General Manager - Foundry

Background of Position:

The General Manager - FOUNDRY will lead, manage and coordinate all the activities in connection with Foundry Production/Marketing/Sales functions to ensure compliance with all local and global regulations, as well as those established by Group as a responsible corporate citizen.

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the incumbent will be to plan, execute, control all production, marketing, sales activities in aim to control costs and achieve higher performance in:

- Foundry Operations, such as in areas of Melting, Core Making, Core Fixing, Moulding, Pouring, Fettling etc whilst driving consistency between different departmental units.

- Specified administrative and facility management activities enabling proper reporting to superiors and getting reports from sub-ordinates.

- He will also be responsible for contributing to Production initiatives with regard to cost and process efficiency, compliance with the national and international production bench marks related to efficiencies, rejection %, Quality & Environmental systems like ISO 9001:2000, 14001 etc.

Strategy Development and Implementation:

- Implement & adapt corporate strategy with regard to regional requirements / roll outs

- Support management in strategic HR/Management Issues

- Understands production parameter and needs, align those with production strategy, policy and service standards

Operational: Management Ops

- Driving production process, policy, reporting compliance

- Drive contractor-company relationship initiatives

- Approval of MIS & corporate reports

- Gathering a team of people from the industry to manage production and sales

Operations: Administration & facilities

- Oversee operation & maintenance of facilities

- Drive creation of facilities in sync with business growth

- Interface with developers/vendors for invitation, short listing and finalization of contracts

- Review performance of all aspects of facilities management i.e. security, safety, disaster management, administrative policies relating to Foundry Division

Operational: Labor Relations

- Initiate various training and skill development programs under guidance with respective heads, team members for skill development in various fronts like Pouring, Crane Handling, Core Fixing, Felting, Sand Blasting, Melting, Marketing, Sales etc.

- Design and implement strategies for Labor Relations

- Assist top management in contract negotiations on plant level (if any)

- Seek continuous feedback from internal customers to address their needs for HR/Administrative services

- Ensure statutory compliance under Labour laws at all sites, especially Daily/contract Labours

People Management:

- Control the performance management processes within the Foundry division

- Establish systems and strategies for retention of Key Potentials

- Build systems & processes, which assist employees to upgrade their competencies

- Establish and manage various employee development activities

for the corporate and production level including career development, performance management and other employee development processes.

Organization Development:

- Develop initiatives to assess measure, diagnose and improve employee morale, engagement and organizational effectiveness and capability

- Identify, nurture, renew and develop the talent pool

Cost Management:

- Develop and control the budget and personnel cost for production, marketing, sales, HR for the Foundry Division

Developmental:

- To attend seminars, training programs and participate in forums to continuously update knowledge

- Interact with Industry links for best practice sharing

- To share best practices and provide coaching & support to team members
