General Manager - Business Development & Strategy - Steel Industry - IIM/ISB/XLRI/FMS (10-20 yrs)

My client is a conglomerate and is into metals, investments, water and education business. They are looking for a GM - BD & Strategy at the group level. Ideally, the person should have worked in a steel or an engineering sector and should have managed business development and strategy. Should have 15-20 years of experience. Would prefer someone who has worked in STEEL industry.

Education: MBA from a top notch B school

Location : Delhi

Purchase (Raw Materials) :

- Purchase of Raw material (like iron ore, coal, Dolomite Etc).

- Coordinating the development and implementation of key procurement strategies and ensuring that strategies are aligned with organizational objectives.

- Assessing project material requirements and designing purchase schedules.

- Formulating budgets for timely procurement of materials, spare parts and capital equipments to ensure smooth execution of projects.

- Dealing executive for Bulk Raw Material/Production Consumables and Capital/Project Procurement

Vendor Development / Contract Management :

- Developing & negotiating with local & overseas vendors for obtaining timely procurement of materials at favourable terms to ensure smooth execution of projects.

- Actively involved in developing alternate vendor base for spearheading import substitution initiatives.

- End to end tendering process coordination entailing advertisement finalisation, bid evaluation and managing contracts with vendors, transporters and contractors.

Desired Candidate :

Should have exposure in Large Integrated Steel Plant.

Should have good negotiation skills.
