General Manager - Accounts & Finance - CA - Pharma (7-20 yrs)

We are hiring for a leading Pharmaceutical company based at New Delhi.

Designation: General Manager

Department: Accounts & Finance

Education: Chartered Accountant

Experience: Min. 8 Years

In order of priority.

- Candidate should be from Pharma industries.

- Age should be around 40 years

- B. Com (Hons), M Com or CA (from renowned institute)

- Preferably should have worked in top consulting firms.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for managing the key Accounting, Finance and Audit functions in a highly IT enabled company, where all processes from production to sales and accounting have been integrated through SAP software. My major past and present Job responsibilities include:-

- Finalization of Quarterly and Annual Financial Results: As head of Accounts Finalization function

- Compilation and finalization of accounts and related schedules on quarterly and annual basis and getting it limitedly reviewed and Audited respectively by Statutory Auditors Ernst &Young.

- Preparation and Audit of segmental report.

- Preparation and Audit of cash flow statement.

- Valuation of inventory.

- Testing of Impairment of Assets.

- Calculation and reporting of unrealized and realized gain on foreign Currency transaction.

- Reporting on Derivatives, Forwards and unhedged Foreign Currency Exposure.

- Preparation of Notes to Accounts including related party and retirement benefits disclosure.

- Statutory compliance w.r.t. IAS, AAS, Companies Act, SEBI reporting guidelines for listed companies etc.

- Consolidation of accounts of Subsidiaries and Joint Ventures for preparation of Consolidated P&L and B/S.

- Presenting the results to Audit committee and Board of Directors of the Co.

- Budgets and Budgetary Control: Responsible for the entire budget process of the company during 2005-06.

The main activities included :

- Educating and initiating budget process across the organization.

- Budget compilation, analysis and evaluating its impact on P&L and key ratios.

- OPEX & CAPEX analysis, both short term and long term.

- Actual expenditure vs. budget monitoring cost center wise and business segment wise.

- Preparation and presentation of actual vs. budget analysis report to Management.

- Implementation of budget module in SAP for online control of actual expense.

- Project evaluation using NPV, IRR, Pay back method.

- Internal Audit Coordination and Reporting to Audit Committee: As head of Internal Audit function, responsible for facilitating Internal Audit across all plants, R&D centers and Strategic Business

- Units and Service Departments. Preparation and Presentation of Internal Audit observations along with Management perspective to Audit Committee. Reporting to Director Finance.

Monitoring of Accounting Function : Ensuring timely clearance of vendor advances, reconciliation of vendor accounts, clearing of bridge accounts in SAP, clearing of payable accounts, reconciliation of customs & excise / cenvat accounts in SAP, export sales accounting, advance license & DEPB / incentive avail meant, profit center /cost center accounting etc.

P&L under Sec. 80 IC : Responsible for preparation and Audit of separate P&L and B/S of tax exempted unit under Section 80 IC of Income Tax Act.

MIS Reporting : Responsible for preparing and presenting key Management reports through SAP viz.

- Various Ageing Reports, ABC Analysis, Sales Analysis Report, Capital blockage report, Funds

- Movement & Working Capital report, Price & Volume sales variance report, Gross Contribution Report,

- Capex Actual and Commitment report, Forex Hedging Report, Segment wise analysis etc.

Head of SAP Improvement Committee : As a head of SAP improvement committee, involved in implementing and improving IT enabled processes across finance function.

Asset Desk Management : Responsible for managing and capitalization of Assets of the company including monitoring capital expenditure incurred on various projects.

Material Resource Planning : Integrating material procurement and maintenance of optimum inventory levels with production plan, which in turn is integrated with sales projection.

Profitability & Funds Planning : Involved in Long term funds planning, allocation of idle funds, preparing projected profit & loss a/c, analyzing & advising management on various factors affecting GP margins, ROI.

FCCB Issue Management : Involved in structuring & raising of $100 million FCCB issue, investor education programs and handling of Due Diligence conducted by a leading professional co. on behalf of lead manager to the issue M/s Merrill Lynch International.

Liaison: Liaison with DSIR for reorganization of five R&D centers under Section 35 and for weighted deduction under Section 35(2AB) of Income Tax Act. Filing of OPEX and CAPEX statement annually with DSIR for certification.

Drafting of Policy : Responsible for preparing various accounting policy viz., Fixed Asset Capitalization policy, Patent Capitalization Policy, Debtors Provisioning Policy, Inventory Policy, R&D accounting / DSIR approval / expense certification policy, Clinical trial accounting policy, vendor advance policy, SME Act compliance policy, payment policy, FBT accounting policy etc.

Taxation : Handling Direct and Indirect tax. Responsible for Income Tax Assessment. Streamlined issuance of statutory forms, through SAP, streamlining working of FBT, and deferred tax calculation. Atomized Sales Tax and Service Tax calculation.
