Role Summary/Purpose:

- The Project Manager position is responsible for managing medium to large application development & infrastructure projects in the Retail Finance Business.

- The Project Manager works with the Business, Vendor and GE IT teams to plan and execute projects on schedule with available resources and the allocated budget.

- The PM manages relationships with a wide range of groups, which includes all the various application groups, infrastructure teams and the business project team.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Facilitate, coordinate, lead and track daily activities required to ensure the project is successfully completed on time. Come up with project plans for assigned projects, which include clear milestones and assignment of
project task responsibilities to the involved project teams.

- Manage successfully the scope of the project, including business priorities.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with business and other IT teams on the assigned projects.

- Ensure customer satisfaction and manage expectations.

- Clearly define project roles and ensure sign-offs from the relevant owners for each of the toll gates.

- Maintain issue logs and assign definite timelines and owners for closure.

- Demonstrate good leadership skills and resolve inter application group and/or cross functions issues at the project level.

- Clearly document all the requirements and communicate to the project team and relevant stake holders.

- Work closely with the team to bridge the gap between business requirements and IT understanding of the specifics.

- Take up a proactive approach to identify risks to ensure project success and create and maintain a project risk tracker; clearly define effective action plans with responsibilities to mitigate the critical path items.

- Create & maintain project status reports for all assigned projects. Facilitate regular meetings with all relevant stake holders and project team to discuss/share status and to track progress & health of the project.

- Create/revise project management work instructions, tools and processes, when deemed necessary.

- Remain up-to-date with organizational, business, and department goals/initiatives as well as upcoming market trends in IT.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university

- Minimum 8 years of total experience in Information technology with 6 + years of IT project management
experience

- Good vendor management experience

- Should be able to manage diverse teams across locations to effectively deliver on business goals

- Experience in managing large revenue IT projects & Cross functional teams

- Strong and demonstrated track record of success in creating a strategic roadmap and rollout of robust IT architectures and infrastructures

- Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.

- Should be able to communicate effectively to varied audiences changing style and format depending on stakeholder needs.

- Proven leadership and effective decision-making capabilities

- Demonstrated experience in conflict resolution

- Proven project management experience in complex environments

- Ability to monitor and manage critical path elements of consolidated projects

- Ability to manage all aspects of customer service, customer satisfaction, and contractual commitments.

Desired Characteristics:

- Financial services domain knowledge

- Change and Release management knowledge

- Contact Center Technology management experience

- Basic knowledge of Web Architecture & strong knowledge of one or more IT Infrastructure component

- Problem resolution and creativity in solution development
