Scope People - Responsible for the leadership, direction and appraisal of all aspects of the QA & QC functions of the affiliate. Financial - General financial responsibility for approved budgets within the affiliate- s Quality department. Key Accountabilities The Main/Principal Responsibilities are as follows: - Understand and efficiently translate the quality policies and procedures of the Company to subordinates. - To ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements of different affiliate locations to exporting markets. - Ensure that resources required by the Quality Systems are available and periodically verified. - Periodically update and verify the implementation of an effective quality system with necessary changes when needed. - Constantly monitor standard procedures, recommend and apply changes when necessary. - Get involved with different quality improvements and cost reduction projects. - Coordinate with Finance and Material Department on product yields and material usage for costing and material planning purposes. - Plans corrective measures to minimize customer complaints and coordinates their implementation with production, engineering & material provision department. - Approve ingredients and packaging materials on standardization basis. - Initiate and plan quality improvement programs depending on their degree of importance. - Assist Corporate QA in design stages of new projects from Q.A. point of view in terms of machines, formulation and ingredients interaction in relation to commercialization and product launching, availability, release and economical processing. - Get involved in projects / products application in terms of process familiarization, formulation, machinery, new ingredients approval and availability. - Coordinate with Production and Engineering departments to ensure standard formulation and manufacturing procedures are strictly followed. - Set affiliate Q.A. yearly budgets and approves their material requisitions on need basis. - Approve affiliate Q.C. manpower requests and assist in interviewing potential candidates. - Co-ordinate with Human Resources Department different training programs to enhance the quality awareness of all employees whose jobs affect quality. - Recommend disciplinary actions against any employee violating quality procedures. - Perform production trials on new product development, quality improvement or other related projects in coordination with corporate QA and R&D, Production and Engineering departments. - Recommend to corporate QA and R&D for any temporary deviations from established standards and/or to change the old to new standards. - Approve Disposal of scraps and substandard materials. - Any other jobs/assignments entrusted the Seniors/Company. - Decision Making Authority Full decision-making authority within their scope of work and organizational policies with regards to: - Budget estimation, allocation, and disbursement for own department. - Employee hiring and termination for own function Minimum Knowledge & Experience Education & Knowledge - Bachelor's Degree/PG Degree in Food Science/Chemistry from a reputed College or University The candidate must have good knowledge of Food Safety Management System implementation & documentation. - Very Good Technical Knowledge. - Good Communication Skill. - Good Leadership Quality. - Good Interpersonal Skills - Good knowledge of MS Office. - Good knowledge of HACCP & ISO 22000. - Good Team Player/People management. Experience - At least 12-15 Years- Experience in the FMCG/Food Industry of which at least 5 in a managerial capacity.
