Job Title Fund / Portfolio Manager (FM)

Reported by Chief Executive Officer

Main Role (overall responsibility and accountability)

The FM will be responsible for making all specific investment decisions for Muscat Capital's (MC) private & public funds & DPM's. He will report to the CIO.

The FM also closely interacts with internal operational, functional and business staff as well as front office staff in asset management to ensure the performance of agreed objectives and duties. The FM will also interact with clients and potential investors.

FM must be knowledge in fund management such as equity, real estate, fixed income and DPMs.

Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Fund management

- Be responsible to manage all MC public and private funds and all actively managed investment portfolios of clients of MC in accordance with the T&C- s, CMA regulations and client agreements.

- Undertake and be responsible for all security selection and due diligence activities for funds under management. Stock, and security selection, placing orders, follow ups, confirmations and related activity

- Conduct suitable research activities specific to the product sector under considerations

- Ensure all pre compliance and post compliance policies and procedures are adhered relating to all investments.

- Be responsible for all routine internal and external reporting to management and unitholders including but not limited to monthly fact sheets and reports, all quarterly reporting to unitholders and regulators and the annual funds reports.

- Arrange and organise internal investment committee meetings for all funds. Ensure investment decisions of the committee are implemented, controlled and monitored. Regular reporting to the committee.

- Organise and lead Fund board director meetings and responsible for preparation of material for the same.

- Ongoing supervision of outsource providers such as fund developers and project managers, sub-managers and agents to ensure compliance with objectives and targets including on-going investment due diligence.

Product development

- Working with internal product teams to conceptualize, develop and finalise all new Fund documentation, including Terms & Conditions, Offering documents and related marketing material.

- Work closely with CIO, Compliance and executive management during the internal and external regulatory approval process. Contribute towards all new product activities until the regulatory approval & launch.

- Internal communication and training of sales and front office staff during launch and rollout of new Funds.

- Establish and be responsible for the on-boarding of all underlying counterparties, custodians, sub managers, auditors and other primary service providers.

- Contribute towards development and maintenance of funds policies and procedures.

- Be responsible for fund governance related matters not covered by above.

- Attend client and investor meetings during the on-going promotion and development of existing funds.

- Attend roadshows and new client origination exercises by the sales and wealth management teams.

- Manage the funds marketing, advertisement, press release & promotional activity.

Personnel Specifications

- Master of Business Administration (MBA)/Chartered Financial Analyst or Equivalent Qualifications.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a competitive environment.

- Initiative and ability to generate ideas and carry the same forward.

- Excellent financial modeling and financial analysis skills.

- Ability to structure and achieve output in semi structured environment.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Documentation experience i.e. prospectus, information memorandum, drafting presentations etc. is essential.

- Excellent report writing skills.

- Post-qualification experience of around 7-10 years in fund management and investment analysis.

- Experience of fund structuring in equity, real estate, DPMs and fixed income.
