Position: Functional Lead

Department: Business Analysis

Location: Bangalore, India

Functional Lead supports the Software Engineering Team that designs and builds technology products. The primary goal of this position is to provide, to the Application Development and Maintenance teams, leadership on the functional requirements of applications. The Functional Lead is the custodian of functional requirements for the offshore teams. The functional lead will

- Work closely with the Onshore Business Analysts, Offshore Development and QA(Testing) teams

- Work extensively with functional requirements

Elicit and understand requirements - from product owners and/or onshore Business Analysis teams

Verify and validate the accuracy and completeness of requirements

Organize and collate requirements that often originate from disparate, sometimes opposing sources

Simplify, translate and communicate requirements to the development teams

Manage requirements through the stages of development; Manage changes to requirements

- Conduct Functional testing of the built product by creating and executing test cases based on defined functionality

- Conduct training to the engineering teams on the functionality of products

Technical skill set:

- Tools for documenting requirements such as Rational RequisitePro

- Use-case documentation

- Using QA and Project Management software such as Jira to report and document defects and other issues as they arise

Analytical skill set:

- Ability to guide the development of meaningful specifications for new products/modules

- Clear understanding of the various Software Development Life Cycles such as Waterfall, Agile, etc

Business skill set:

- Strong communication skills. Ability to share information and communicate clearly to team members

- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in a geographically distributed team environment

- Ability to drive critical tasks to completion with little supervision

- Ability to understand the business domain and assist in understanding and improving the functionality of the products being built

- Adaptable to multi-cultural communication and collaboration

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or Management

A Master's degree in Management is preferred

5-6 years of experience working with software development teams of which at least 2 years in functional analysis roles

Knowledge and/or experience in the domain of Local Marketing will be a value add
