Functional Architects play a strategic role by coordinating with key stakeholders in the organization to create leading edge technology solutions. Not only are they adept in understanding business requirements, but they are also the de-facto experts on being able to translate that knowledge/ business processes into a well defined product architectural roadmap  How do we build a multi-tenant, multi-location, WMS that provides multi-channel, multi-category support, and can scale to millions of orders a day- What is the right approach to optimize for B2B and B2C fulfillment using the same inventory and infrastructure- How to enable REST, SOAP, AS2 and FTP-based touch points for clients to interact with our WMS. All this and much more will be asked of you as you drive key architecture related decision-making for our fastest growing business segment  Responsibilities  - Understand and analyze user needs, market trends - leverage them to define and articulate near-term and long-term WMS business and architecture roadmap  - Own and manage the entire life cycle: from strategic planning to tactical decision-making  - Identify gaps in existing WMS processes/ applications and works with engineering team to address them   - Ensure flexibility of business process architecture to support incremental development, ongoing maintenance and future enhancements to the system architecture  - Be the subject matter expert on WMS - help internal teams (product, engineering, supply chain) understand functionality, benefits, intricacies and costs of various WMS architectural alternatives  Qualifications  - Background in warehouse management/ logistics/ supply chain planning systems is a must  - Prior experience with SAP EWM, Manhattan WMS, JDA WMS/ RedPrairie, IBM Sterling is highly desirable  - 4-8 years of experience as lead architect in warehouse management/ supply chain planning projects; overall experience of 7-10 years  - Undergraduate degree in engineering or related technical discipline  - Strong analytical and technical skills. Excellent communication, collaboration and organization skills  - Prior experience in a startup/ fast-paced environment is preferred
