Job Title Regional Risk Manager

Function / Department : Retail

Department Head: Chief Risk Officer

Reporting Manager: SVP - Risk

Purpose of the Job:

To support business and functional goals by ensuring that all credit policies, practices & guidelines are adhered to as per approved policy. The Regional Credit Manager has to manage his/ her team productively and has complete responsibility for ensuring that the approved credit policies are adhered and facilitate business in meeting assigned targets and performance goals in line with agreed objectives with his/ her manager.

Describe the KPIs against each perspective

Perspective Key Performance Indicators

Business and Financial Management - Manage cost in line with lower revenues

- Meet market constituent i.e. customers, financiers and do evaluation of the market and customers fairly and diligently in line with the credit program.

- Credit Approval of deals as per authorized limits; recommends and forwards to appropriate authority in case of higher limit / deviation/deferral.

- Focus on collection & legal recovery

- Review and approval of credit files as per policy

- Review portfolio on a monthly level with respect to delinquency/losses/fraud of the portfolio underwritten for the following :

a) Bucket wise delinquency is under triggers

b) NCL within budgeted figures

c) Customers TOD level within acceptable norms

d) Non starter at minimum level

- Negligible skip/ fraud cases.

- Gives Early warning inputs regularly through market, industry and customer level feedback in order to avoid surprise delinquencies.

- Adheres to customer calling plan as per EW process

- Meets principals, other financiers regularly for market updates

- Ensures classification memo is sent within stipulated time frame.

- Reviews credit admin activities to ensure the activities like RMU movement, filing of charge, agreement filling, stock and book debt audit, legal dox review, regular information on deviations, deferrals to central unit etc are completed within stipulated time frame.

Customer Focus:

- Meet vendors including valuers, lawyers etc. on ongoing basis to monitor collateral values.

- Ensures timely renewal of Credit approvals ensuring satisfactory turn around time.

- Choose right customer to lend to

People / Team:

- Ensure adherence to culture with focus on Integrity, Discipline, Teamwork (no silos) & Care

- Focus on retention, development and employee engagement

Process / Quality Improvement:

- Ensure strong corporate governance, regulatory compliance & adherence to management model

- Perform credit and reference checks.

Expertise required/ Domain Knowledge:

- Banking, credit rating industry with lending, credit approvals, delinquency, analysis, collections, processing, signing bank deals, memorandums experience

No. of years of relevant experience:

- Minimum 8 yrs in financial services.

Any specific specialization/education:

- Minimum qualification is MBA Finance, CA or equivalent as desirable qualifications with approving / sanctioning background having ability to understand finance, including balance sheet reading and a flair to understand risks inherent in customer business
