Key Roles and Responsibilities  Manpower Planning  - Maintain an updated list of medical staff in the region with their credentials, privileges and contact details.  - Liaise with Unit Medical Heads to identify and escalate severe medical and nursing manpower issues particularly in critical areas such as Intensive Care Units and Emergency Departments.  - Liaise with Regional HR staff to monitor and review Induction programmes for Residents and Consultants  Clinical Effectiveness  - Monitor implementation and adherence to clinical pathways  - Monitor clinical outcome reporting   - Monitor monthly and quarterly MOS and CESC returns from the Units for timely submission, accurate compilation and logical analysis  - Track the conduct of clinical audits when tasked to specific departments of units  - Maintain a record of Clinical Quality Committee Meetings Minutes and escalate the list of errant Units on a monthly / quarterly basis  Patient Safety  - Monitor and review all adverse events  - Visit units when required to oversee the conduct of a RCA ordered for a sentinel event, an unusual event or serious patient complaints.  - Maintain records and monitor follow-up action of all Unit visit reports to the RMD  Clinical Service Delivery  - Collate and present analysis with a focus on adverse trends and practices from Medical Specialty Templates  Medical Process Assurance /Internal Audit  - Document and tabulate Medical Process Assurance and Internal Audit observations in Units and regularly follow-up actions until closure of all observations.  Academics, Training and Research  - Keep a record of all applications for accreditation with the NBE for DNB courses and facilitate units in the conduct of NBE inspections.  - Track the running of all DNB courses and function as a single point of contact for training related complaints from DNB trainees and monitor results of DNB examinations.   - Keep records of all other fellowship/ certification courses run units and monitor the progress of students.   - Monitor the ACLS certification status of all Residents who are assigned to work in ERs, ICUs and Cath Labs.  - Oversee OJT for nurses, technicians and Residents/  Medical Stores and Equipment  - Function as a single point of contact when a Medical Head wishes to escalate an issue regarding non-availability of essential medication or un-serviceability of critical medical equipment.  Medicolegal and Statutory Compliance  - Assist the RMD in ensuring medicolegal and statutory compliance in all units with respect to licensing, credentialing, registration of Consultants and statues pertaining to MTP, USGm Blood Bank, Biomedical Waste and Narcotics.  Accreditation  - Record the accreditation status of Units and ensure follow-up on all non-compliances and observations  Secretariat  - Provide secretariat support to various committees including the Regional Medical Council and any other clinical meetings. Secretariat support includes:  Assist in the preparation of the agenda  Collating all papers and presentations and circulate to members  Attend each meeting and take the minutes of meetings  Submit minutes of meetings for vetting, amendment and approval  Distribute finalized minutes of meetings to all members  Track and prepare a register of outstanding matters and seek returns on what action has been taken  Knowledge and Specific Skills:   Thorough knowledge of medical administration  Excellent analytical skills  Strategic planning skills  Good knowledge of medical operations   Strong multi-tasking ability  Excellent writing skills
