About Seller Ecosystem

One of the key priorities of Flipkart is to unleash the entrepreneurship of millions of manufacturers, distributors and retailers across the country including those in small towns and villages. We plan to do this by providing them an extremely easy to use platform to list and sell their products anywhere without regard to any geographical limitations. In this regard, we have already signed an MoU with FISME (Federation of Indian Micro and Small and Medium Enterprises) and NCDPD (National Center for Design and Product Development) to boost manufacturing and entrepreneurship in the country. In August, we started an initiative called - Kaarigar Ke Dwaar- by tying up with the Labour Ministry. We plan to come out with several product and technology innovations and also partner with relevant industry and ecosystem players and the government to achieve massive scale that India needs.

The charter of the Seller Ecosystem team is to activate sellers on the platform, address their capability gaps and enable them to grow and realize their full potential. Sellers are our customers. We are passionate about delighting them and making them incredibly successful in their business. And we go out of the way to make this happen.

Role Overview:

The mandate of this leader will be to enable sellers who are on our platform to grow and realize their full potential. S/he would need to look comprehensively at things which, if available, could turbocharge the growth of sellers. S/he would then need to prioritize and focus on critical few that could change the game in the country. Few such areas could be advertising and promotion, brand creation, e-commerce-ready manpower. The person should be able to think at an ecosystem level and be able to come up with a platform (as opposed to a point) solution. Many of the things we are doing are first in the country and highly disruptive. This leader will need to be able to take bold industry-changing moves and follow it up with superb execution.

The two key performance metrics for this role will be (a) revenue per seller and (b) seller satisfaction.

We realize that we are entering uncharted territories but we have the determination and funding to back our intention. We are therefore looking for the best talent available globally such as yourself. You will be among the small group senior leaders in the company. This role can become as big as you make it. As an extremely fast-paced technology-driven disruptive company we have disregard for usual ways of doing things. We provide significant empowerment and opportunities to grow one- s career. Qualifications:

- Start-up experience and/or mindset with high degree of comfort with ambiguity. Need to be curious, internally motivated self-starter with a - can do- attitude. Should be adept at working in fast paced, unstructured start-up environment

- Outstanding strategic thinking skills. Need to be a clear thinker with superb problem-solving skills to prioritize and stay focused on big needle-movers

- External orientation. A track record of looking outside to identify emerging trends and being able to capitalize on the opportunities they presented

- Market understanding of relevant spaces such as SMEs, Advertising Networks, Brand Creation etc.

- Product-mindset. Being able to capture the key customer need and productize technology-driven solution to address it

- Business acumen with a track record of consistently exceeding targets

- Outstanding facilitative leadership and interpersonal skills to quickly gain shared vision externally and internally in order to move things forward under extremely stringent deadlines

- Sense of ownership as a steward of the company and an infectious passion for their area of responsibility

- Outstanding senior management communication skills. Need to have really strong oral, written and presentation skills including ability to communicate very complex ideas in simple ways

- Education: Top-tier engineering (e.g. IITs) with an MBA (e.g. Ivy League, IIMs) preferred
