Finance Head - Financial Controller, CFO

Looking a Qualified CA / MBA - Finance with 10 + years of progressively responsible experience with a large multinational FMCG company.

Position :

- Reporting to the executive director (ED), the director of finance and administration will define the process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support substantial growth over the next five to 10 years.

- She/he will continue to build and manage effective and streamlined administrative/financial systems, including financial, accounting, legal, information technology (IT), human resources (HR), and physical infrastructure.

- As a member of the senior management team, will be involved in strategic planning, evaluation, and professional development initiatives, as well as planning for expansion to multiple new sites.

- The Chief financial officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. Principal accountabilities are :

Planning :

- Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives

- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans

- Develop financial and tax strategies

- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes

- Develop performance measures that support the company's strategic direction

Operations :

- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team

- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team

- Manage the accounting, human resources, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments

- Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations

- Manage any third parties to which functions have been outsourced

- Oversee the company's transaction processing systems

- Implement operational best practices

- Oversee employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package

- Supervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions

Financial Information :

- Oversee the issuance of financial information

- Report financial results to the board of directors

Risk Management :

- Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile

- Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry

- Construct and monitor reliable control systems

- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage

- Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements

- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies

- Report risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors

- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations

Funding :

- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts

- Arrange for debt and equity financing

- Invest funds

- Invest pension funds

Third Parties :

- Participate in conference calls with the investment community

- Maintain banking relationships

- Represent the company with investment bankers and investors

Financial Management :

- Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials and metrics for board of directors.

- Oversee budgeting, financial forecasting, and cash flow for administration, existing programs, and proposed new sites.

- Manage one full-time accounting administrator; hire and retain support staff as needed in the future.

- Coordinate all audit activities.

Administrative Leadership and Management :

- Serve as a business partner to the ED on the organization's financial, budgeting, and administrative processes- including HR, payroll, and benefits functions with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems.

- Lead Technical staff to design an IT plan for the future, and implement it successfully to meet IT needs (hardware and software) as the organization grows.

- Manage the organization's physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance (phone system, security, cleaning, supplies, etc.), with assistance from Plant Head & Operations Head.

- Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team. Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting

- Experience should include legal, audit, compliance, budget, and resource development.

- Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.

- Proven effectiveness leading professionals in finance and accounting.

- Technologically savvy, with an ability to point to examples of having worked with IT staff to develop and implement new processes and systems that increased efficiency in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities :

- Develops financial well-being of the organization by providing financial projections and accounting services, preparing growth plans; directing staff.

- Accomplishes finance human resource strategies by determining accountabilities, communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures, implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary and communication programs, planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions, planning and reviewing compensation strategies.

- Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.

- Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems; implementing change.

- Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities, projecting acquisition and expansion prospects, analyzing organization operations, identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement, accumulating capital to fund expansion.

- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.

- Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions; minimizing the impact of variances.

Cash Flow :

- To control the cash flow position throughout the company, understand the sources and uses of cash, and maintain the integrity of funds, securities and other valuable documents. Have custody of, and disburse the company's monies and securities.

- The authority to establish accounting policies and procedures for credit and collections, purchasing, payment of bills, and other financial obligations.

Company Liabilities :

Company Performance :

- To be the score-keeper using tools like the balanced scorecard, dashboards, and financial statement ratio analysis to communicate both the company's expected and actual financial performance.

Department Supervision :

- Supervisor of Accounting, Finance, HR, and IT. To handle company's accounting and financial functions using job descriptions, policies, and procedures, and methods for automating document control.

Financial Relationships :

- Establish and maintain lines of communication with investment bankers, financial analysts, and shareholders in conjunction with the Board.

Finance or Raising Capital :

- Establish and execute programs for the provision of capital required by the company, including negotiating the procurement of debt and equity capital and maintaining the required financial arrangements. Coordinate the long-range plans of the company, asses the financial requirements implicit in these plans, and develop alternative ways in which financial requirements can be satisfied.

Financial Obligations :

Approve all agreements concerning financial obligations, such as contracts for raw materials, IT assets, and services, and other actions requiring a commitment of financial resources.

Record Control :

- Responsible for the financial aspects of all company transactions including real estate bids, contracts, and leases. To provides insurance coverage, as required, ensures the maintenance of appropriate financial records, prepare required financial reports, insures audits are completed in time and statutory book closing occur. Ensuring company compliance with financial regulations and standards

Shareholder Relations :

- Analyze company shareholder relations policies, procedures, and information programs, including the annual and interim reports to shareholders and the Board of Directors, as well as recommends to the Board new or revised policies, procedures, or programs when needed.
