What's the ROLE -

The position directs and controls the corporate reporting function and acts as a key financial deputy of the Finance Director.

The incumbent

1. Leads corporate financial reporting, mill accounting and reporting, PP&E accounting, credit management and accounts payable functions and is directly responsible for financial controls and for reviewing and recommending appropriate internal controls in these areas of responsibility. In performing these responsibilities the incumbent provides work direction, performance coaching and career development and recruitment of staff.

2. Manage the corporate accounting to reporting functions for the Corporation to ensure the financial results are accurately reported to management, shareholders and appropriate external parties.

3. Coordinate, Company secretarial and legal functions including maintenance of statutory company records and risk management programs to meet management, statutory and shareholder requirements as well as development and maintenance of internal control policies and procedures to contribute towards existence of a strong corporate governance and - best practice

4. Devise Internal control policies and procedures including custodian of all & ensure Adoption of best practice in this area.

This position is responsible for the taxation function that collaborates with the Regional team and provides coordinated tax advice and planning or review to maintain the crucial balance between minimising tax exposure and fulfilling the obligations of a good corporate citizen for the Company.

The position is responsible for the coordination of the company secretarial function and collaboration with Regional Legal Department including Company Registry Compliance for the Company and completion of contract review etc. Law is complex and constantly changing. Failure to comply with legislation puts the officers of the Company at legal risk and may threaten the Company's right to operate.

The position is responsible for the coordination of the risk management function and collaboration with Regional Risk Management team to provide the advice and expertise or reviews to maintain risk management programs for the Company. Failure to correctly evaluate and cover risk can leave the Company exposed to significant financial liability.

The position is responsible for the coordination of internal control programs. The opportunity exists to enhance company's profitability by contributing to process improvements with recommendations of the required internal control that could be implemented and by implementing reviews on internal controls for effectiveness and cost justified.

Who is an IDEAL Candidate:

A. Degree in Accounting, CPA qualified and at least 10 years exposure to Corporate Business, including 3 years in a senior accounting/finance position in a Multi-National Company.

B. Broad appreciation and understanding of local country and United States accounting theory, practices and procedures. Knowledge of statutory reporting requirements and related legislation

C. Knowledge and ability to interpret complex tax law and apply in practice. Exposure to Corporate financial consolidation practices
