Job Description: Finance Controller
Primary Location: Mumbai
Objective
To supervise the Accounts team to ensure that books of accounts are as per Indian accounting standards and are in compliance with reporting requirements of some group plc (UK listed entity, IFRS reporting). To oversee accounting & finance function & preparation of reports generated/prepared from local accounts. To maintain robust controls and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
Managing the accounts team (Approx. 8 FTEs) to ensure that local accounts are prepared as per Indian accounting standards.
Allocation of responsibilities within the finance team on different areas of book keeping and accounting
Monitoring the book keeping/accounting to ensure that these present a true & correct view of underlying transactions
Coordination with other verticals/departments for assimilation of data and tying up any gaps on regular basis
Guide the local accounting team on technical issues faced and ensure that there is no room for error in base data generation in local accounting system
Supervise the reporting manager and ensure to get accurate and timely reports generated/derived from local accounting software, for submission to Company.
Get periodical reports generated by accounts team and in depth review/ analysis of the same before submitting to the company.
Ensuring that all compliance locally as well as global reporting are done in timely fashion
Coordination with company for any queries/explanations/reviews on periodic reports from company and ensure timely & accurate response
Assessing capabilities of accounts & finance team and taking charge of improving the structure and quality of the team by new hiring/replacements etc.
Facilitating accounts system integration in accordance with company requirements in future
Work closely with local management and CFO to cater to information needs of company management from accounts & finance department
To implement continuous financial audit and control systems to monitor the performance of the business, flow of funds, the adherence to the budget, the expenditures, the income, the cost of sales and other budgetary items
Review and implementation of periodic budgets and forecast as per company policies along with CFO
To bring to attention of company any existing or potential issues on financial systems, accounting, audits, budgeting and other matters of financial nature having significant financial implication
To ensure full compliance with company processes and controls
