About our Client - Our client is a leading Indian media house based in Mumbai, specializing in the production and distribution of films. With annual turnovers well in excess of 1500 cr, our client has expanded internationally over the years and is responsible for some of the best loved films in Hindi and other cinema.
Job Description - Reporting to the CFO, you are responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that book closing is completed in a timely and accurate manner and with adherence to the relevant accounting standards
- Interfacing with external auditors for both statutory audits as well as risk based audit
- Overseeing the MIS preparation and ensure that appropriate budgets are set. Analyse variances and provide strategic direction
- Working closely with the taxation specialists to ensure maximum benefit to the company
- Providing strategic inputs in matters of joint venture, acquisitions and fund raising
The Successful Candidate :
- As a successful applicant you are a qualified Chartered Accountant with approximately 15 years of experience.
- You have significant experience in the media industry, particularly film production and distribution/ television and have worked in a large media house.
- You have been exposed to the entire gamut of finance and accounts in a supervisory and hands-on role.
- You have an in depth knowledge of Service tax, sales accounting, cash flow management, financial reporting according to IGAAP and IFRS.
- You have liaised with banks for fund raising and are comfortable in a front facing role
