Job Title : Director EWT Strategy & Architecture

Job Summary:

The Director of Strategy &Architecture is responsible for the architectural leadership / strategy for Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) domains of activity and is the organization's top architectural resource. Advises the CIO, and other global leaders on matters of architecture planning and execution.

- Oversees the actions of a team of EWT enterprise architects globally and makes certain the alignment of the EWT Strategy to the broader Technology organization's mission, strategy / objectives, capabilities, and processes using industry recognized architectural models and roadmaps.

- Expands the company's use of technology as a strategic enabler of goals and objectives, realizing global business benefits whilst empowering local service innovation. Responsible for steering / driving the most important and complex future planning activities and projects.

- Involved in the development of policies, standards and guidelines that direct the research / investigation, selection, development, implementation and use of IT within the organization.

- Responsible for directing the development and maintenance of Global Enterprise Architecture frameworks and approaches, including technical / functional logical modelling, architecture governance, and tooling. Leadership role responsible to drive the maturity of the group and enables delivery of seamless, end-to-end Enterprise Architecture Services.

Essential Functions of the Job:

- Directs their Strategy & Architecture (S&A)team to develop the visionfor their function, aligned to the overall technology vision, and effectively and consistently communicate this to stakeholders

- Directs the execution of their Architecture Domain responsibilities toward alignment with the EWT and Technology BU strategies and roadmap, delegating as appropriate across theirteam, enabling alignment with other Architecture organizations to enableefficient and productive teaming

- Enforces architecture governance structures and compliance activities to maintain regulatory compliance and enterprise standards

- Communicates feedback to the leadership team to improve and evolve the quality and type of services provided

- Primary participant in the review of the worldwide request funnel for IT Solutions and assesses their strategic and architectural fit to the enterprise, including directing the prioritization of initiatives

- Directs globalization of business capabilities and determines redundancy and re-engineering opportunities through the use of the S&A frameworks

- Communicates the value, and oversees delivery, of S&A asset content, it's management via logical frameworks and use in enterprise-wide roadmapping

- Directs the development ofrecommendations regarding enterprise architecture tools and strategies to support the continuing improvement of S&A, defining their potential impacts or benefits. Coordinates these with the Chief Architect\Head of Product & Technologies

- Cultivates and builds relationships across business, IT and vendors / analysts to gather intelligence and bring insight about the wider enterprise picture and enable the leveraging of emerging industry standards and approaches within S&A

- Overseesthe development and implementation of an ongoing communication plan to educate stakeholders on the purpose and benefits of Enterprise Architecture

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities :

- Strong strategic skills to develop long-term Enterprise Architecture visions and the ability to translate them into actionable roadmaps

- Ability to identify, prioritize and weigh different options, balancing business, cost and technology priorities to determine a best solution

- Strong client-facing facilitation skills and business acumen needed to help business leaders understand how to apply complex IT / Architecture concepts to solve business problems

- Provides thought leadership into the evolution of the Strategy & Architecture function, working collaboratively with managers, peers and analysts

- Provides guidance and thought leadership to an Architecture team so that architectural assets, concepts and solutions are built in line with Enterprise Architecture principles

- Drives the creation of relevant and meaningful architecture roadmaps, concepts, re-usable assets and other deliverables that enables the overall business thus driving better performance

- Owns the strategic architecture for EWTand is accountable for this within the end to end Enterprise Architecture framework

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

General:

- Sets strategic direction of their Architecture team to align with overall Enterprise Architecture objectives

- Strong analytical skills and strong team leadership.

- Excellent management skills, coupled with exceptional judgment and tact.

- Knowledge of industry standard Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and Governance

- Ability to translate business needs into Enterprise Architecture requirements, and estimate the financial and architectural impact of Enterprise Architecture alternatives

- Ability to rapidly comprehend the changes to key business processes and the impact on the overall architecture

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects in a fast-paced environment

- Ability to work effectively with clients and team members across multiple geographies

- Good relationship building, facilitation and influencing skills and experience of leveraging these on both ITS and business leadership contexts

- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity, and rapid change

Domain Specific (required dependent on specific role) :

- Excellent knowledge of business process, capability design and information governance / management

- Experience in architecture modeling and roadmapping within, and, ideally, across domains

- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies, architectures, standards and processes, and a good understanding of infrastructure engineering processes

- Excellent knowledge of application technologies, architectures, standards and processes, and a good understanding of application engineering processes

- Excellent knowledge and experience in successfully delivering very large scale enterprise IT programs, with good architectural and program management understanding

- Specialist knowledge of industry standard Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and Governance models, with experience in applying these to successfully establish / transform these capabilities within global / multinational organizations

Supervision Responsibilities :

- Prioritizes deadlines and provides supervision of all members of their Enterprise Architecture team worldwide

- Sets and monitors goals and assess overall performance of team members and actively participates in the formal Review Committees for the Enterprise Architecture group

- Provides formal and informal coaching on-the-job to grow team members to their full potential.

- Delivers results through others, leveraging the ability to lead through influence

- Responsible for assigning work and reviewing performance, requiring leadership of virtual teams

- Strong influencing skills are required to work with other departments or leaders and encourage effective feedback for all team members with stakeholders beyond the Enterprise Architecture group

- Receives general direction

Other Requirements :

Regular international and domestic travel. Reasonable extension of the working day should be expected commensurate with the needs to fulfill the obligations of the role

Job Requirements:

Education :

Required :

- BS/BA in Computer Science, MIS or related field

Preferred :

- MS/MA/MBA in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent

- ITIL v3 Master certification.

Experience :

- 15+ years of technology management and 10+ years of architecture management experience.

- Experience with exposure to senior leaders and C-level management.

- Management of a team with resources in multiple geographies.

Certification Requirements :

Any Enterprise Architecture certification is preferred (eg TOGAF) but not mandatory
