The details of the role are as follows.
Project Design:
Define project requirements:
- Thoroughly research available alternatives for the client solution
- Use business knowledge and experience and make contact with all relevant internal and external stakeholders (including clients and potential suppliers)
- Ensure production of documentation for each stage of the project from scoping to post-implementation
- Ensure that developments follow the defined Delivery process and that project documentation meets the required standard
- Liase with appropriate areas to ensure use of best practice
Project Management:
- Manage the delivery of software solutions to clients from inception to completion:
- Responsible for assessment and communication of risk
- Negotiate and acquire resources needed to enable successful project delivery, including people, any insourcing/outsourcing needed, hardware, processing time
- Manage projects to achieve milestones
- Control scope of projects, re-negotiating with the client where any additional requests result in further chargeable work or the need for revised timescales
- Prepare, negotiate, monitor and control budget of assigned projects to ensure expenditure is in line with agreed business case
- Identify, escalate and resolve problems. Conduct regular reviews and produce updates
- Issue project management status reports to project stakeholders highlighting risk areas and overall progress
- Work with colleagues in development for product support
- Provide input and support to the development of Project Management. Best Practice to help ensure the business meets and exceeds business performance goals
Implementation:
- Effectively manage the live implementation of the solution:
- Effect seamless handover with full communication of changes to the client
- Conduct post-implementation review and make provision for ongoing support
- Complete post project budget review, actual versus forecast
Managing Client Relationships:
- Manage the client relationship through the life cycle of the project:
- Drive high standards of customer service and proactive client communication during the project duration
- Proactively communicate project status and deliverables through the life of the project
- Support the client through the project, providing guidance through project design to implementation
- Resolve issues raised by the client in a timely and efficient manner
- Nurture and enhance the client relationship, identifying and progressing with the Consultant opportunities to enhance existing solutions and cross-sell other E-S products and services
Management & Leadership:
- Directly lead a small project team of analysts to effectively deliver solutions projects:
- Manage and motivate staff to maximise performance
- Support the team in the management of their own workloads and achievement of objectives
- Create an environment of continuous improvement, encouraging people to identify opportunities for improving quality and efficiency
- Engage in and complete performance management processes, including objective setting, personal development planning and performance review
- Resolve disciplinary and grievance issues
Development:
- Improve personal, professional and management competencies and business knowledge through continual learning:
- Own and action personal development plan
- Extend knowledge of Experian product, service, clients and business processes
- Seek feedback to improve personal performance
- Ensure that potential learning from each project is maximised
- Acts as a role model, displaying a positive, enthusiastic, can-do approach even in the face of adversity
- Establish and maintain cross-team communication networks to share learning
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Total Experience of 8 10 years minimum
- Experience of Project Managing medium to large sized software implementation projects and project teams within a large, complex IT/financial services organisation for 3 5 years
- The candidate should have worked as a programmer/software developer for 2-3 years before starting to manage projects as a Project Manager
- Significant experience of risk management products
- Graduate/Post Graduate in Technology/Computer Science preferred
- Hands on Knowledge of Core Java, XML, SQL, Oracle is required
- Professional certification in Project Management
- Previous experience of working in a IT/financial services environment and delivering software development/implementation projects
