Experian - Commercial Director (15-20 yrs)

We are currently looking for a professional with 15-18 years of experience including prior senior management experience to join our successful team. In the role of Commercial Director you will be responsible for the performance of the Company's businesses, as dictated by the overall strategy by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the business.

The role provides proactive leadership to the India function and will be a member of the country leadership team. Successful candidates will hold strong Commercial Awareness along with an ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings.

The Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking the lead in the following areas:

1) Strategic Direction

- Provide strategic plan with reference to key clients and market sectors in India

- Contribute to definition of the corporate strategy and associated plan

- Implementation of agreed actions

- Identify the key business initiatives to continue to grow the India business

- Ensure that external market conditions, competitors and opportunities are actively monitored

- Build close working relationships with the JV partners to maximise business opportunities whilst protecting/improving local market position

2) Sales and Marketing

- Devise and update an appropriate sales structure

- Manage campaigns to strengthen position in the marketplace; create good speaking, PR and advertising opportunities. All should be in alignment with the regional marketing team and global branding

- Direct the achievement of sales of existing and new products, following the entire sales cycle, including the price and contract negotiation phases

3) Business Development

- Monitor the market and look for opportunities to introduce products and services in the most efficient way

- Contribute to the design of country specific products

- Drive high standards of customer service and satisfaction throughout all areas of the business

4) Operational Control

- Contain costs and maximize the profits for the business

- Produce and communicate budgets and targets

- Monitor billing and maintain a proactive approach to credit control

- Periodical update with the OC to help delivery's planning

- Oversee key contract negotiations

- Assess any potential risk arising from changes in legislation which may affect the business

5) Client / Partnership Management

- Secure existing revenues and cross sell to key clients across market sectors

- Demonstrate awareness of their markets, needs and expectations

- Develop account relationships

- Create opportunities and manage existing relationships with third parties

6) People Management

- Co-ordinate and manage the team to ensure optimum performance

- Plan for training, recruitment and performance management within corporate and divisional guidelines

- Help subordinates to achieve their goals

- Motivate and develop all employees

- Promote cross-cultural team atmosphere that helps all employees see the `big picture- .

- Communicate a culture that generates enthusiasm and commitment for actions that result in company-wide benefits

Knowledge

- Clear communicator

- Commercial Awareness

- Existing relationships in the financial services sector

- Able to present and Chair at major industry forums

- Client focused and driven

Experience

- 15-20 years or more experience in finance industry

- Ten years- experience in a senior management role

Qualifications

- Post Graduate Degree level education
