EXL - AVP - Governance/Risk & Compliance (8-12 yrs)

This is a key leadership position reporting to the VP- Financial Services, Finance Transformation. The person will work closely with the Program Leads for Assurance and Accounting support engagements for global clients in Insurance, Healthcare and Banking & Capital Markets verticals. The AVP, Governance, Risk and Complian-Financial Service will be responsible for not only providing leadership across key projects, but will also develop and execute the delivery methodology and framework, establish a QA process, help develop new products, service offerings and value propositions, including providing thought leadership on GRC proposals and RFP’s.

- Manage delivery of one or more large multi-geography complex assurance engagements, including managing 30-35 staff, senior and manager level consultants, quality assurance, training and development, staffing, escalations management and resolution, presenting project-level updates

- Lead from the front, be a guide, coach and mentor, provide thought leadership and effectively engage with clients

- Focus on delivering value to clients – continuously improve key performance metrics

- Drive innovation and incubate best practices

- Analyze processes and controls, perform root cause analysis and articulate control deficiencies and remediation techniques both internally and with client senior management

- Provide assistance and advisory services to clients and perform an ongoing risk assessment of anticipated organizational changes and emerging control issues; support and monitor remediation activities, as necessary

- Maintain ongoing awareness of significant changes related to new statutory and US GAAP pronouncements or other factors that may affect SOX, MAR or Federal Reserve Reporting scoping and control activities for assigned areas, and make adjustments to assigned programs as necessary

- Coordinate and manage interactions with multi-functional and cross-geographical teams both internally and externally, as necessary

- Participate in key Transformation pursuits, including competitive RFI/RFP’s

- Effectively guide teams of project managers and consultants and provide guidance on key projects

- Conceptualize new service offerings and come up with productized collateral

- Recruit a team of Finance Transformation consultants, help to put in place a core team

- Travel up to 25% may be required based on client requests/commitments

Desired Profile-

- CA, CPA, CIA, CFE, CISA, CISSP, or MBA with strong quantitative skills from a top tier business school (preferred)

- 8-10 years of assurance and advisory experience, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm

- Knowledge of current accounting, auditing principals and internal control concepts

- Exposure or understanding of control concepts and processes with practical experience in regulatory compliance, internal audits, risk management, accounting / process advisory and finance transformation / improvement
