Title of the Position: Executive Director - PGDM Program

Location: Chennai

Reporting Structure: President

Job Purpose:

- We are looking for a high profile, eminently qualified and experienced academic to assume the role of Executive Director of the of the PGDM program at our Client's School of Management.

- S/he will carry responsibility for planning, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, curriculum, instruction, and other academic, scholarly and research matters.

- The role will actively represent PGDM program to students, parents, professional organizations, business and industry and other relevant constituencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Specifically, the Executive Director will be responsible for:

- Development and growth of academic programs, including program identification and curriculum development;

- Strategic planning including monitoring and reporting of industry trends, market demand and competitive positioning;

- Financial and budgetary planning and reporting;

- Faculty and staff recruitment, development and evaluation;

- Operational management, including effective and efficient management of enrollments, admission requirements, placement rates, etc.;

- Program marketing and student recruitment and retention;

- Obtaining and maintaining the requisite program accreditation and managing on-going program reviews and evaluations;

- Representing the school in all external interactions and building and maintaining enabling relationships with local, state and national community, professional, industry and government constituents to ensure the creation of a favourable ecosystem for ensuring the school’s success and growth.

Key Focus areas:

- Work with the institute's leadership to support the program’s mission and strategic planning initiatives.

- Recommend instructional and general policies, conduct meetings to facilitate planning and decision-making and to keep students, faculty and staff informed about issues and projects.

- Maintain current knowledge of emerging trends and innovations in business school education

- Participate in scholarly and research activities related to the School discipline/focus.

- Provide leadership for program improvement, development, and review and recommend changes to maintain relevance of academic programs and to meet student and academic community needs.

- Promote excellence in learning centered teaching and promote faculty engagement in scholarly activities.

- Will work on identifying collaborations/partnerships with Global B School and create opportunity for our students study at these institutions.

Required Credentials:

- Possess a demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to work in start-up situations.

- Have an earned doctorate in an appropriate discipline from an accredited university with industry exposure.

- Have a rich mix of international and country specific validated academic and research experience of at least 20 years duly supported by educational qualifications in line with global educational standards along with a demonstrated track record of institution building in the business education sector. Specific focus on management education learning with related academic experience in curriculum development and implementation for at least five years would be valued.

- Additionally, tracked experience in strategic planning, program development, fiscal and resource management in an academic environment essential.

- Knowledge of and experience in global business education accreditation processes important.

- Possess excellent people and communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate and effectively promote the mission of the School.
