Experience: 5-10 years

Shift Timings: 9:00 am to 6:00 pm

Working Days: Monday to Friday (1st & 3rd Saturdays are working)

Qualification: NIFT Graduate/MBA from a reputed university.

We are looking for a suitable candidate for the above-mentioned profile. You will be responsible for understanding regional preferences of customers, identifying sourcing, negotiating terms and costs, and partnering with teams across Etail and its clients to launch and grow the business. You will partner with Product Management, Vendor Management, Marketing, Food Safety, Legal, and other teams to offer a range of high quality food products from a sustainable & compliant supplier base.

The primary responsibilities will include Understanding the customer requirements and build an exceptional, authoritative and high quality selection of products and develop sourcing strategy to support the selection requirements and build a compliant / sustainable supplier base for long term success. Stay updated on the developments in the commodity market and leverage regulatory / market dynamics to offer great value to stakeholders. Develop and execute cost saving initiatives to deliver against business objectives. This includes period review of sourcing costs and benchmark with market to remain competitive. Manage the supplier relationship on an ongoing basis including holding the supplier to quality and compliance.

Regularly monitor & develop supplier performance through scorecard and audit process. Develop risk mitigation strategies including contingency plans, lead-time reductions and supply chain efficiencies. Collaborate with other members of the team including Brand Management, Product Management, Marketing, and in stock Management on new products and sourcing strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will Exhibit strong bias for action, successfully develop important strategic & sustainable sourcing partners across many product categories in food space Demonstrate strong ownership and entrepreneurial drive. Have a high level of curiosity, and be excited by the prospect of diving deep into varied product categories, each with their own unique characteristics. Possess a strong analytical ability combined with a comfort with ambiguity and excellent understanding of the food supply chain Partner with multiple teams internally, earning their trust and collaborating successfully. Negotiate beneficial terms, establish and grow a P&L Identify opportunities to develop better processes and scale. Think big about the long-term strategy. Show ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem solving skills Love food & be excited by the idea of foraging for and uncovering unique finds.

Role & Responsibilities

- Understand customer behavior, develop new customer insights.

- Stay on top of trends in an ever-changing landscape, find opportunities and prioritize based on size, internal capabilities, etc.

- Aligning departmental objectives with the Organizational objectives.

- To increase scrap sale realization.

- Implement effective end to end Supply Chain Management for existing operations and new projects.

- Understand on-line and off-line players. Ensure Etail and its clients selection stays well ahead of competition.

- Have an in-depth knowledge of competition and vendor and ability to influence the market

- Develop and implement industry best practices. Move the industry with you!

- Convert strategies into action by liaising with cross-functional leadership and drive the changes required.

- Develop and manage a purchase strategy with the brands to ensure best selection along with the optimal cost and service.

- Build, retain and groom a strong team to deliver across functions.

- Set goals, define KPIs and ensure team tracks effectively towards goals.

- Lead and coach others in maintaining excellence on CGMP, quality control, and safety.

Desired requirements

Worked as a buyer with a leading retailer or large brand.

Must have a strong contact base.

Desire and ability to think like both customers and sellers.

Ability to translate strategies into execution plans and take them to completion.

Highly analytical.

Willing to take calculated risks to grow the category.

Excellent verbal and written communication with interpersonal skills.

Strong understanding of technology and business.

Must be willing to travel whenever and wherever necessary.

Ability to connect with people across teams & levels

Strong bias for Action - Etail works at a very rapid pace.

MBA with a reputed institute or a premium University. (Desired)
