Equity Quant Analyst - Algo Trading

We have an opening with one of our client in Mumbai for Equity Quant Analyst.

Job Description:

Business Title : Equity Quant Analyst

Reports To : AVP

Experience : 1-4 years

Candidates presently working in Mumbai are preferred.

Role Overview:

Quantitative Research in the areas of:

- Market Microstructure: Intraday patterns in asset price, volume, bid-ask spread, and touch size in Pan Euro equity markets. Tick database usage.

- Transaction Cost Analysis: Analysing client performance. Use of execution performance reporting technology.

- Pre-trade and post-trade analysis, bespoke data aggregation and analysis.

- Execution Performance Analysis: Analysis of execution performance for internal and external (client) usage.

- Client Support: Attend to ad-hoc/bespoke quant requests from clients.

- Report Generation: Maintain and enhance current periodic microstructure reports, test and implement ideas to either improve or create new reports.

- Other: Analysis for trends in market turnover (volume), client turnover, direction of client flow, country and sector analysis.

The team in Mumbai is a part of a global team and work as their extension.

- The objective of the role is to blend in seamlessly and provide top class level of service to internal clients as per SLA’s. The end result should be to positively impact their capacity to deliver further.

Qualifications/competencies:

- ME/MSc/Mathematics/Statistics/PhD up to 3 years of experience

- Knowledge of Databases/ Sybase/ SQL

- Experience in Algo Trading or Algorithmic trading

- Familiarity with financial products preferably in Equities

- Competent in Statistical Analysis. Strong spread sheet skills (MS-Excel)

- R/S-Plus or Matlab/Octave experience beneficial but not essential (Matlab preferred)

- Be good at creating and presenting quantitative research reports

- Have experience in a process/system based environment

- Will need to take ownership of any task and see it through. Being responsible for deliverables.

- Be a thinker and take proactive steps to improve process continually in order to take it to the next level.

- Managing own performance objectives.

- Communication with global teams.

- Detail orientated and accuracy is a must.

- Be accountable for completing daily set tasks.
