Solutions Architect - Smart Grid

The incumbent will have solution architecture experience in designing Smart Grid / Smart Metering end-to-end solutions for energy utility customers.

Shall have a thorough understanding of all practical aspects of Utility Power domain.

- The Smart Grid Solution Architect provides technical assurance and oversees the implementation of the Smart Grid, builds detailed technical architecture and establishes the technical governance.

- The Solutions Architect is responsible for all high level IT/OT architectural design and for managing project deliveries.

- The Solutions Architect is responsible for Conceptualizing and developing Smart Grid solutions for Power Networks. Should be well versed in the requirements and Use cases of AMI solution design and engineering, HES, MDAs, MDM solutions, Demand Response, Peak Load Management Renewables Integrations etc.,

- High end Analytics solution development and integration skills are required. Shall be capable of designing integrated solution from disparate applications and set them up on single platform.

- Shall be well versed with Communication technologies / solutions applied in Smart Grids and Smart Cities - ICT system implementation.

- Translate business requirements using methods/models to determine appropriate architectural solutions and make sound integration architecture decisions based on expertise of open/industry standards, current and evolving technologies, products, standards, patterns, approaches, etc.

- Ensure individual systems can be integrated effectively, including the sharing of common services, functions, 'middleware-, communications, security and data.

- Develop supporting technology roadmaps to meet business objectives and the Smart Generation and Transmission and Asset management business roadmap

- Implement technical risk management practices and ensure that all risks are managed through solution projects or other means.

- Implement technical assurance controls for Solution implementations so that they follow a managed and structured approach from concept through to delivery and transition

- Familiarity in developing Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) based services within medium to highly complex application environments.

- Experience in the development, implementation, and management of Enterprise Data Models, Data Architecture Strategies, Delivery Roadmaps and Information Lifecycle Management

- Experience with architectural abstractions, integration with design, and integration patterns.

- Extensive experience in delivering Case Management solutions, Business Analytics and SOA

- Demonstrated understanding of system behaviors and functionality.

- Experience in creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems and situations.

- Define the business use cases for data integration and to support the operational business needs of smart grid initiative

- Develop data strategy to support smart grid

- Provides leadership with advice on Smart Grid & other IT/IOT systems integration

- The Solutions Architect is responsible for all high-level IT/IOT architectural design and for managing project deliveries

- Define the detailed program charter to support the data strategy including the governance model - data strategy roadmap with dependencies

- Define the solution architecture working with enterprise architecture and other partners

- Define use cases for POC (proof of concept), as appropriate

- Lead any development effort to support the data strategy

Qualifications & Experience

- Shall have a bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering Masters degree preferred

- 15+ years of overall Solution Development & implementation experience with significant experience in managing business relationship and architecture

- 10+ years of hands-on technology architecture experience as an Architect, technology strategist or similar

- Hands on experience in Utility SCADA, DMS, OMS, AMR AMI systems deployment

- Experience in smart grid or other relevant IOT (Internet of Things) or digital initiatives in energy/utilities industries

- At least 5+ years of experience working for energy or utilities industry. Deep domain knowledge of grids, power distribution and smart grid initiative is a MUST

- 10+ years of IT/Business leadership is desired

- Expertise in Digital, IOT, Analytics and mobile technologies essential

- Experience in leading discussions with business and technology leaders, developing use cases, value propositions etc.

- Minimum of 3 IT engagements in energy or utilities and exposure / active participation in to smart grid initiatives is a must
