Job Title: Engineering (R&D) Head
Purpose of the role: Lead the global innovation process & programme and group Research & Development activities and facilities in Bangalore, India
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsible for New product development for various parts and assemblies.
- Responsible for all new activities.
- Knowledge and handling customer, vendor supports and feedbacks.
- Conversant with APQP, FMEA & PPAP process and related documentation.
- Knowledge of preparing the part feasibility reports and part quality.
- Knowledge of drawing and understanding of drawing requirements and standards given in drawing.
- Review and monitor development of product design to ensure APQP time plans.
- Trouble shooting of parts during development phase.
- Should have good relationship between customer and vendor.
- Understand customer requirements & implied needs to improve the project.
- Follow NPD process and meet the entire development schedule.
- Participate in Design Reviews& follow up with suppliers for ECN implement to meet the project timeline.
- Planning & execution of Tooling design using ProE/Unigraphics/CatiaV5/CAD/CAM/CAE.
- Feasibility study of RFQ.
- To lead the team as CFT (Cross Functional Team).
- Design review with customers, suggesting changes, Feasibility study of parts and assemblies.
- Identification of tooling requirements and finalization of suppliers using various costing principles.
- Identify and execute cost saving projects.
- Manufacturing feasibility study.
- Implementation of ECNs (Engineering Change Note)
- Preparation of yearly business plan with the guidance from top management and external consultants and presenting to the management committee meeting.

Knowledge/experience/skills/personal attributes:
Essential:
- Advanced Technical degree in a relevant area
- 8+ years leadership experience in a multinational R&D facility
- Excellent teamwork and people management capability
- Project management, planning and leadership experience
Desirable:
- Business or commercial management experience
- Formal project management training and qualification
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Innovative problem solving capability and aptitude
