Job Title: Engineer-Production (Sulphuric Acid)  Experience:(5-10)Years  Position will be based at South Africa.  Job Responsibilities:  - Ensure effective plant operations: Set and manage optimum production targets in line with market demand  - Manage final product quality within set standard, Manage and improve plant and process availability, Ensure optimum plant utilization, Manage and measure overall process efficiency in terms of raw material usage, wastage, etc, Manage process functions and duties during annual shutdowns, Carry out standby duties.  - Ensure effective production planning: Manage weekly production planning and ensure that planning is in line with market requirements, Coordinate requirements from other divisions to ensure optimum performance.  - Undertake troubleshooting activities: Manage problem-solving processes and conduct problem solving analysis, Motivate and encourage staff to be innovative regarding troubleshooting activities, Identify and eliminate plant bottlenecks and process related problems in order to improve performance.  - Undertake effective project management: Identify, initiate and manage projects to enhance process performance, using up-to-date technology, Manage plant trials when required, Coordinate process related projects with the technical department.  - Ensure effective reporting: Ensure daily production reports are generated and produce monthly reports for management, Compile and present plant performance related information at meetings.  - Ensure effective management of SHREQ activities: Manage all SHREQ activities, Update and maintain the programme to ensure safe and efficient operations are maintained, Implement new items in quality and SHREQ programmes, Participate in SHREQ audits, internal monthly audits and audits for other divisions when necessary, Ensure procedures are updated and distributed, Investigate incidents and ensure timeous completion of reports and corrective actions.  - Ensure effective budget management: Prepare annual budget for costing purposes, Manage and control costs according to budget, Investigate and report on any variations  - Ensure effective communication: Ensure communication is clear and that the channels are open to subordinates, Communicate inter-departmentally and divisionally for optimum performance, Communicate with management and keep them informed of developments or potential problems, Communicate with external consultants and specialists concerning operation related issues.  - Ensure effective staff management : Maintain a positive working environment by keeping staff informed with regular feedback on developments, Manage staff KPA's and development Conduct performance appraisals to correct substandard performance   - Identify staff training needs and submit training plans, Facilitate the implementation of appropriate training programmes to improve skill levels  - Discipline subordinates so as to correct performance to standard, Coordinate shifts and leave to ensure correct manning levels at all times for optimum plant operation, Develop specific objectives to optimise manpower and machinery that are in line with company objectives, Manage and control staff timekeeping, attendance etc.
