Engagement Manager / Principal - Social Sector Consulting

Position : Engagement Manager / Principal / Sr. Principal

Company : A Leading Consulting firm

Important Requirements :

- Required to work across geographies and hence must be willing to travel.

- The individual will hold P&L responsibility and be responsible for the profitable growth of the Practice. .

Qualifications :

- Post graduate in social sciences or MBA from a premier institution with a strong academic background and exposure to the Development Sector & Sustainability space

- Premier institutes would include IIM A including agri business, TISS, SCMHRD, Xavier Institute of Social Sciences, IIM B, IIM C, IIM L, IIM I, XLRI, FMS, SPJIMR

- Candidates must have a good academic track record

Experience :

- 15 years of experience after post-graduation (preferably from 2000 batch)

- Previous experience in a reputed management consulting firm or with consulting firms in the Development Sector would be necessary.

- Multi-sectoral experience (skills, education, nutrition, health) would be a significant advantage.

- Exposure to research, program design, monitoring and evaluation is necessary.

- Additionally the current job should involve the following aspects

a) Business development & working with alliance partners

b) Consultative selling

- Should have managed and led a team of professionals and delivered results on revenue or P&L.

Role :

Business Development :

- Setting & achieving business development goals of Practice in line with organizational goals

- Expansion of Practice across new clients and geographies

- Building network and relationship with clients

- Design and introduce new offerings

People Management :

- Overall people management, motivation & morale in own Practice (FTEs, Advisors, Domain Expert, etc.)

- Employee alignment to organization goals through regular communication & interaction with Practice members

- Implementing people, policies and practices - Eg. recruitment, appraisals, etc with people development and retention

Project Management :

- Monitoring and reviewing project planning, execution, resource utilization

- Ensuring quality and conceptual rigor across the Practice

- Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction

Consulting Process :

- Contribute significant value as a thought leader, providing strategic perspectives, insights and cutting-edge solutions

- Strong conceptual knowledge coupled with a good understanding of business realities to recommend/advise implementable strategic and organizational interventions to clients.
