Elara Capital - Research Associate - Institutional Equities - CA - IT/BPO Sector

Job profile:

- Assist in coverage of Indian IT Services and Internet firms

- Maintain earnings models for firms under coverage including quarterly earnings updates and any other significant event (acquisition, bonus/split etc.)

- Help with channel checks through industry contacts

- Take an active interest in developing own view on the industry overall and on specific mid-cap firms (expected in 1-2 years time after joining team)

- Provide support for answering client queries - i.e. specific research requests to justify/ support any particular point of view or explore a line of thought not fully explored previously

- Help create/update presentations periodically for client meetings/ roadshows

- Help initiate coverage on new stocks within the sector by reading and collecting data points that can be used to form a point of view about a new stock under coverage

Required skills:

- Good accounting knowledge, excellent excel skills, should be comfortable with both word and power point.

- A natural intellectual curiosity to connect any news events to how it could impact specific companies under coverage or the industry overall.

- Should be able to understand the rationale behind assumptions made in the earnings model - i.e. an ability to connect between the business and the numbers assumed

Ideal candidate profile:

- A CA with 1-2 years of experience is fine if he/she has worked in the IT or BPO sector.

- The ideal candidate will have worked in financial planning/ strategy/ business finance
