Product Manager

PURPOSE

- To ensure improvement in market share of the assigned brand by facilitating the field to learn the product details and market opportunities, provide to them adequate and relevant inputs to meet their objectives, follow up with vendors, logistics and support services to ensure timely supply of agreed inputs

Responsibilities:

1. Topline & Bottom line achievement

a. Prepare Brand Wise Quarterly Communication:

a. Briefs ad agency on the product

b. Evaluation and selection of draft concept out of 3-4 designs submitted by the agency

c. Evaluate a detailed Visual Aid with the agency before finalization

d. ORG CMARC trends

e. Send the visual for printing

f. Coordinate with printer and logistics vendor for dispatch of Visual aid before 1 week of the planned quarter.

b. Communicates to the field force on the brand strategy and ensures implementation of the same

a. Prepare business plan (quarterly) booklet for field which includes the explanation and detailing talk of the visual aid and inputs.

b. Periodical circulars about brand’s achievement, market trends etc to keep the field sales team abreast of the current information and motivate them to go for the call.

c. Conduct Quarterly briefing sessions of .5 – 1day in each zone to ASM’s on brand communication/ inputs.

d. Monthly planned visit to select areas for review meetings to further reinforce brand communication.

c. Promotional Material; i.e. LBL, Inputs etc on a timely basis for effective marketing

a. Plan for quarterly inputs and mode of inputs

b. Vendor selection

c. Negotiate with multiple vendors for cost effective input selection

d. Coordinate with selected vendor on agreed time, quality and quantity supply of inputs.

e. Allocate inputs geography wise.

f. Coordinate with vendor and logistics vendor to ensure timely dispatch to the field as per allocation

i. Continuous monitoring of the planned activities and reorganization of promoted initiatives to improve cost without affecting topline.

2. New Product Launch

a. Identify potential areas of New Product Launch in the assigned therapy through:

a. ORG CMARC trends

b. Doctor feedback in joint work/ CME/ conferences

c. Field manager’s feedback

b. Analyse market potential for the identified new product through historical ORG-CMARC

c. Conduct primary research with the help of market research for achieving clarity in the right patient segment, right launch volume and right price.

d. Work with finance to validate the profitability/ viability of the product

e. Present the idea post clearance from finance to NPD and get a project manager assigned by the NPD Head

f. Coordinate with packaging, FR&D for product features finalization.

g. Prepare sales projection, sampling plan for atleast 6 months – 1 year from launch.

h. Prepare stock allocation and ensure proper distribution in all geographies through SCM.

i. Parallel, finalize on promotional activities, input plan, Visual Aid etc and work towards a launch as per the agreed timelines with NPD Project manager.

j. Ensure regional launch meetings for the new product through RSM’s.

3. Field Work

a. Have to work 4 days/ month with PSR’s at field to understand the current market trends and the brand performance/ feedback from doctors.

b. Focus will be to work with focus on field/ KOL/ Geography etc

4. Analyses CMARC Rx trend and drives leadership position (jump in ranking, growth more than market) for the brand thru field force

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Required Education and Experience:

- Science Graduate with MBA or BPharm with MBA

Minimum Experience

- Total 3 - 4 years of Pharma sales experience. Product Management experience is desirable.

1 Analytical Ability – Ability to identify gaps in the market and positioning our products. Also, going through CMARC Rx trend and presenting data interpretation and challenging on breakthrough achievement through customized campaigns and marketing interventions.

2 Innovation / Creativity – Think and do new activities so that the freshness in the promotion is maintained. Should also possess ability to create alternatives.

3 Influencing – Listen to the field patiently and then communicating with them in a articulative manner to gain mind share of PSR for his set of products.

4 Prioritization and time management – Multitasking and ability to handle thinking and operational task at the same time.
