Position Title : Assistant Manager - Purchase
Reports to : Manager-Supply Chain

JOB PURPOSE :
Analysis of business market forces and accordingly developing cost effective supply chain by procuring quality product, as per our standards & ensuring their availability to all in the stores/ commissary
Key Accountabilities :
- Food Cost Tracking-Savings /Loss against budget
- Calculating projections of key products on annual/monthly basis and accordingly developing contracts with vendors.
- Achieving supply chain saving target by regular interaction and survey for new vendors in market, in order to get competitive quotes.
- Coordinating for new product development with other departments as per requirement from time to time.
- To finalize the annual contracts for the next fiscal year by 30th of March every year
- Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action
- Responsible for planning, developing and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost effective way; timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS :
Qualification - PG. Materials Management/ MBA
Experience : 6+ years of experience in the specialized Supply Chain services industry.
Key job tasks of purchasing manager :
- Implement procurement strategy and policies.
- Forecast procurement needs.
- Create and implement KPI's.
- Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects.
- Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement plans to react.
- Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.
- Lead the procurement group in all phases.
- Identify and develop training opportunities.
- Discuss defective or unacceptable new goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative action.
- Ensure supplier compliance with site and company requirements for safety.
- Manage vendor relationships and assist in building effective partnerships.
- Assist department in developing and implementing purchasing strategies for products.
- Taking over an existing project of customized and private label food products.
- Develop and review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate the timely purchase of new food products.
- Help to lower the cost and secure agreements.
- Liaise with Accounts Payable Department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices, as necessary for the business with the supplier.
Qualifications/Experience Required :
- MBA preferred
- 6+ years of relevant contract and procurement experience
- Experience in leading or managing a team in a fast paced environment
- Food services experience will be given preference
- Direct experience in project management
- Working experience in international and cross functional project teams is considered as a strong asset
- Good communication skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
