District Sales Manager - Courier Delivery & Services Firm (10-20 yrs)

A reputed and renowned Global Courier Delivery and Services is looking for two District Sales Managers to be based at Chennai and Coimbatore.

Job Purpose Statement:

Leads and manages a team of sales professionals focusing on the achievement of stretching revenue goals and defined business/service objectives. Includes those relating the Customer Experience that involves the team building effective customer relationships that inspire loyalty and support the growth of profitable business.

Key Accountabilities:

People Management - Uses structured processes and best practice methods to recruit and select competent Sales Professionals with the capability to develop new business opportunities and maintain the customer base, in a complex business to business sales environment. Achieves accountability and consistency of individual/team performance by providing clear direction and performance goals. Supports this with regular coaching and structured development planning. Ensures succession plans are achieved by providing stretching development plans for high performers.

Goal Setting - Based on the established district revenue plan, develops and sets realistic and stretching revenue targets for individuals, that take account of multiple factors including market potential, competitor intelligence, individual competence etc.

Revenue Management - Ensures revenue goals are achieved through effective communication of plans and securing of functional support and Sales Team commitment. Regularly reviews performance results and takes appropriate action to ensure optimal achievement of goals.

Networking - Builds a network of appropriate contacts within key operational and functional groups. Initiates and co-ordinates alignment of efforts that facilitate the achievement of both short and long term revenue and service goals for the Company.

Customer Relationship Management - Develops and maintains good business relationships with major customers and prospects in order to enhance understanding of the customers- requirements and future business needs. Translates the information into actions that ensure effective service for the Customer and/or business opportunities for the client's operating companies.

Yield Management - Ensures optimal revenue and profitability of a district by conducting regular reviews of revenues/volumes and the implementation of pricing programmes. Initiates appropriate actions to address any opportunities or shortfalls identified.

Business Opportunities - Aligns with CE, Marketing and Operations in the development and implementation of value added business opportunities identified within the district. Co-ordinates the implementation of local initiatives as well as assigned roll out of divisional and corporate programmes.

Budget Management - Manages the annual expense budget (salaries, training, travel and entertainment) to ensure ongoing costs are justified and controlled and remain within total budget.

Service/Revenue Enhancements - Supports district/regional achievements by leading or participating in assigned projects and initiatives that contribute to service or revenue enhancements. Projects can be local country, district, regional driven or roll out of global initiatives.
