Job Description

1. Business Development and Retention

- Promote new ideas and business solutions that result in extended services in areas of direct and indirect taxation Services.

- Work to expand client base and support business development activities.

- Arrange and attend meetings and give presentations to prospective and existing clients for acquiring new business or expand / retain the existing clients.

- Prepare proposals as per requirements of clients.

- Negotiate and finalize business deals with clients.

2. Assignments- Management

- Develop an understanding of clients- businesses and become a ''functional expert'' in the taxation (especially VAT) area.

- Keep abreast of latest developments in VAT and other tax laws currently applicable and to be implemented in UAE.

- Provide advisory support to our clients in areas, including for example:

- Planning and structuring VAT transactions

- VAT Calculation, liabilities and amounts to be deposited

- VAT disputes and appeals

- Review and propose VAT treatment on products and/or services

- Full / Partial exemptions

- Customs duties and other applicable taxes

- International issues and specialist sectors to the extent relevant to clients

- Provide technical and other support to client in respect of compliance matters including completing and filling of tax returns and dealings with taxation authorities.

- Provide advice to clients in respect of third party contracts and new product developments, considering applicable taxation laws, rules and regulations.

- Assist clients with the resolution of VAT notices and audits from third parties, including tax authorities, where needed.

Assignments- Administration

- Direct and drive the success of multiple engagements.

- Manage assignments within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high-level of quality services up to clients- satisfaction.

- Anticipate and address client concerns and address problems as they arise.

- Keep lines of communication open with staff and clients.

3. Staff Recruitment, Training & Development

- Identify suitable and talented resource to achieve business development and assignments- management objectives.

- Attract, develop, and retain top talent in taxation functional area.

- Design training modules and depart trainings to your staff and firm's assurance and consulting teams on latest developments on VAT laws and practices.

- Facilitate HR and Administration departments in performing their duties relating to staff administration matters.

Qualifications

Skills requirements

- Tax/Accounting qualified CA with VAT practice

- Sound VAT experience

- Minimum 15 years- experience, at least 8 years in VAT matters

- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel essential.

- Strong Analytical Skills

- Strong Communication Skills

- Organizing ability

- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple on-going projects

- Managing Risk

- Proficient in English in report writing and communication
