Director -Research And Consulting (Water, Sanitation & Waste Management)

About the client- A US headquartered independent, nonprofit institute that provides research, development, and technical services to government and commercial clients worldwide.

About the role-

The incumbent would build, lead and manage the water, sanitation and waste management practice for Research triangle institute in India while also developing deep intellectual capital for the sector in the process.

He/she will help define the scope of the practice, identify and develop key focus areas of engagement and lead client relationships on issues of strategy and technical management related to their domain (Water, Sanitation and Waste Management).

Pedigreed education and experience. Master's in Business Administration from a leading business school or Masters or Ph.D. from a top university in field of expertise

- Current or past experience of operating as a Practice leader / Specialist in one of the leading global consulting firms / Multilateral or Bilateral foundations/ International Donors or Non Profit Institutions

- Experience of managing and ideally building a practice/operating unit will be highly desirable.Should have demonstrated an excellent trackrecord of delivering outstanding impact to Client / Customer businesses and expertise in one or more relevant practice areas

- Demonstrated success required in new business development, and in writing and leading successful proposals

- Leader with gravitas and well reputed in the market; on-ground India experience is very desirable.Relationship in and understanding of the Government / Bilateral / Multilateral institutions is desirable but not essential

- Experience in the water, sanitation and environment sectors is required. Clear understanding related issues in the social context of India, social norms and practices in the community, prevailing government policies and recent developments in the sectors

- Ability to communicate clearly and simply the most complex ideas, articulating action plans in a compelling manner and listening with empathy

- Sensitivity to the political and cultural environment of international public agencies or similarly complex environment
