Job Description: Director - PMO  Job Title/Designation: Director - PMO  Function/Group: R & D  Required Minimum Experience in years: 17 - 24 years  Location: Bangalore  Objective  - To establish and run the Program Management Office for TSPL R&D and drive success of the various projects/program(s).   - This will involve designing and implementing the required processes, ensuring the right methodologies are established and creating the appropriate tools and infrastructure for development of cutting edge products.   - This would include Ownership of all certifications that the R&D would require.   - The PMO is currently in a nascent stage and ability to create a PMO from scratch is critical.  Position Hierarchy:  Key Areas of Responsibility:  Strategic:  - Design, build and run a PMO function in accordance with Vision, Strategy, Approach and Goals of Company. This includes right structure, staffing, practices and tools across the R&D to build best in class products.  - Create a Project Review framework that will operate across the R&D and be used by all project managers to oversee and manage all projects.  - Monitoring and review of implementation of key strategic and operational initiatives across R&D.  - Creating and executing a plan for getting the relevant certifications for R&D.  Reporting to:  Designation: Reporting Manager of: Chief Technology Officer - Director – PMO  Operational:  - Review the various programs and projects to discover issues/conflicts and resolve the same.  - Create and operate a continuous improvement plan for the various programs that oversee the process, methodologies and tools in operation.  - Prepare for the R&D review with management w.r.t (people, budget, projects, performance parameters etc.) and act on the feedback.  People:   - Plan and implement development programs to ensure team members skill sets are upgraded appropriately.   - Coach team members to ensure process adherence and effective project management, utilizing best practice project management skills.  Minimum Qualification:  Educational Qualification:  Licenses/Certifications:  - Bachelor’s Degree required.   - MS, MBA or other advanced degree will be an additional advantage.  - PMP certification or formal education in Project Management required.   - Six Sigma or other continuous improvement certification will be an additional advantage.  Knowledge:  - Project Management Processes, Methodology and tools.  - Product Development Life Cycle and Design Controls.   - Continuous Improvement programs.  Experience & Skills:  Mandatory Experience Required:   - Operating head of PMO in a medium to large organization.   - Experience in managing Product Driven IT Development programs.   - Demonstrated expertise in planning, budgeting, and project management directed at achievement of short and long-term business goals.   - Has experience in setting up methodologies and tools to ensure high quality software delivery.  Essential Skills Required:   - Ability to assess organization PMO Maturity, baseline and create roadmaps for improvement and ensure the required outcome.   - Demonstrated leadership skills including ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional management without formal reporting relationships.   - Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.   - Proven high-degree of problem solving and decision-making ability.   - Passion for excellence and measurable outcomes.  Good to have Skills:  - Ability to setup processes to handle mass market product.  Attributes:  - Ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization, especially the ability to frame complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.   - Ability to effectively manage priorities in an ever-changing environment.   - Acts as a change agent; actively generates process improvements.   - Results-oriented with the ability to work well under pressure.   - Initiative and drive.
