The Human Resources Director develops the strategy and leads in the execution of the talent acquisition and talent management activities in the corporate office, distribution center facility and branch offices, to include the following: talent acquisition, talent management and development, employee relations, coaching, engagement, compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting to include union relations, policy development and programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Leads talent management initiatives, including talent reviews and developmental programs, in order to best identify and develop internal top talent and position employees for future growth.

- Leads performance management programs and support by developing and optimizing processes that reinforce performance that impacts company success including leading calibration meetings, facilitating training and supporting and coaching, at the management level.

- Leads the corporate talent acquisition team and manages the full life cycle of recruitment including creative sourcing, interviewing, assessment and managing the offer process. Manages the optimization of candidate pipeline development.

- Promotes employee engagement initiatives, including identifying the drivers of employee engagement and working with the business partners to prioritize engagement and retention initiatives.

- Identifies individual development needs and growth experiences and partners with the Leadership development team to create programs.

- Leads all employee feedback mechanisms and makes recommendations for departmental improvements.

- Provides advice and counsel to managers regarding employment practices and policies, performance management and talent development.

- Develops and recommends HR best practice improvements and provides advice, assistance and follow-up on such initiatives.

- Provides functional expertise to management with the objective of enhancing organizational effectiveness and excellence.

- In partnership with the businesses, recommends changes in organization structure, job content and reporting relationships to optimize performance.

- Develops the plan to communicate organization and structure changes to ensure understanding and aligned company efforts.

- Key interface from the HR side on union negotiations and contract interpretation.

- Complies with federal, state, and local employment law in the execution of performance management coaching and implementation of HR activities.
