This is a startup. You will be the first Senior Engineering leader. Must be able to lead code-review sessions, challenge product management when features impact responsiveness and scalability, identify potential problem areas and suggest alternative solutions, If you only want to project-manage deliverables and people, this is not the right job for you.  DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE :  - Strong experience in N-tier business applications using Java (Struts, Hibernate, Spring), RESTful WebServices, HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery and RDS-MySQL   - Disciplined self-starter who enjoys the challenge of developing a team of talented engineers   - Process oriented: Should be able to work well in Agile environments, implement unit testing discipline, configuration management systems, daily build procedures.   - Strong understanding of MVC and Object Oriented development concepts, multi-node database and SQL development   - Understand mobile tech stack and debates on HTML5, hybrid   - Excellent communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and problem solving skills   - Good networker with a personality to inspire and attract and highly skilled engineers   - Passionate about quality coding and unit testing. You fundamentally believe that QA is not needed.   - 8-10 years of progressive hands-on software development experience  Bonus Points:   - Experience with location-based applications and vehicle sensor large data sets and map APIs is a big plus.   - Experience with Amazon cloud-hosted applications including operational management and instrumentation.  QUALIFICATIONS :  - Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree or a PhD in Computer Science or the equivalent required. A MBA with an interest in leading large technology teams is a definite plus.  - At least 7 years’ experience in a highly scalable N-tier Java environment.  - At least 3 years’ experience managing a team of 50 engineers or growing a team from 10-50+ engineers.  - At least 2 years’ experience in a Director role.  - Strong project management skills including great organizing skills, attention to detail, team skills that attract others to work with and for you
