Reporting Relationships and Organizational Scope :

- This position will report directly to the US Director of the India Actuarial & Analytics Center (IAAC) and will oversee (directly or indirectly) the IAAC staff, currently about 25 life finance actuarial team members.

- This individual will have frequent direct interaction with senior actuarial managers across the firm, interactions across the Finance Center, of which the IAAC is a part, as well as with the Actuarial Commercial Pricing Center of Excellence, also located in Bangalore.

Role and Responsibilities :

- The India Actuarial & Analytics Center (IAAC) is part of a broader Finance Center located in India (Bangalore and Gurgaon).

- The IAAC is an extension of the Global Actuarial & Value Management function and supports a wide range of finance actuarial services, including Valuation, Projection Modeling, Experience Studies, ALM, etc.

- The candidate in this position will help lead and build out the IAAC across finance actuarial functions, first in the life space, but potentially also in the non-life space.

- This role will be responsible for overseeing staff in the IAAC, liaising with key senior actuarial stakeholders across the organization, and further developing the IAAC's actuarial capabilities through people, tools, and processes.

- The individual will serve as the key point of contact for finance actuarial work across the center, producing regular reports on team activities for leadership and senior management committees, and participate in regular team meetings to track progress and issues.

The Person :

Candidate Profile :

- The ideal candidate will have a combination of insurance industry breadth of knowledge, depth in the actuarial domain, and cross cultural / cross geographical work experience.

- The candidate should have managed projects independently and ideally have run operations for global insurance companies.

- The candidate must be knowledgeable in the valuation, assumption-setting, capital management, economic risk, reinsurance, statutory and GAAP accounting aspects of the life business.

- The candidate must have excellent communication skills and the ability to interact with business partners and business unit actuaries effectively.

Education :

- An undergraduate degree is required. This individual will be a Fellow of an internationally recognized actuarial institute.

Experience :

- Fellow actuary with 10+ years life actuarial in delivering services to Tier 1 and 2 insurance companies

- Any experience in non-life actuarial work a plus

- Proficiency with actuarial modeling software is required. Examples include Prophet, GGY Axis, MG-ALFA, MoSes, TAS, PTS, etc.

- Experience with Variable Annuities/Unit-Linked Products/Segregated Funds and experience with Solvency II

- Advance Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including VBA, is required

Personal Characteristics :

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently

- An executive presence with excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and work across all levels of an organization

- Willingness to travel globally
