Dharma Life - Chief Manager - Marketing & Communication (3-8 yrs)

Job Description:

Purpose:

- To develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plan that will maximize sales and profit. Drive Dharma Life brand and products/services brands through campaigns/activities among village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs), end consumers, and potential partners aligned with social causes/impact and work closely with channel sales, training and category teams to ensure attainment of social vision, visibility of Dharma Life brand, and consistent business growth.

Marketing Strategy:

- Conceptualize, create and execute the Marketing Strategy aligned with the overall business goals of Dharma Life to maximize success of all product categories and to expand the VLE & Consumer base for diversified product/ services with new partners through appropriate marketing mix using various ATL / BTL activities around products/services for social impact including consumer behavior change program design.

- Translate strategy into quarterly / half-yearly / annual goals, develop long term & short term metrics, key deliverables, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance.

- Develop and execute standard and customized plans including sales initiatives, consumer events, digital / social media, etc. across multiple categories.

- Oversee all aspects of marketing programs from idea generation / proposal writing to budget management and project execution/delivery.

Major Duties:

Communication Strategy:

- Lead the development and implementation of communication strategy. Develop and execute media strategy across all media, including press, and publications to raise Dharmas profile and market Dharmas activities including international programs, recruitment, fundraising and training.

- To take responsibility for the development and management of website, including keeping content up to date and appropriate, making improvements and advising other functions on maximizing its potential.

- Handle brand communication in liaison with the advertising agency, print house, design consultants from briefing and assessment of creative, to managing media deliverables for the brands, various events, promotions, contests etc.

Branding & Promotion:

- Build Dharma Lifes brand and act as brand custodian. Create strong brand identity for Dharma Life and its product/service partners through appropriate brand positioning and product planning using various avenues above and below the line tools including but not limited to email marketing, strong digital & mobile presence, collateral content brochures, flyers, banners, etc.

- Co-branding with major brands for product and cause specific campaigns. Explore big event sponsorship opportunities to attract and appeal to the target audience. Manage promotional campaign strategies and rural customer information materials to maintain existing customers and maximize growth.

Management of ATL, BTL & TTL activities :

- Management of ATL & BTL activities in collaboration with Sales team and external alliances. Prepare a strategic mix of ATL and BTL activities and take it though the line in a seamless manner.

- Collaborate with sales and supply chain team to create dynamic, multi-platform Sales & Marketing proposals and presentations for VLEs that drive profitability. Handle below the line activities like promotions, events and exhibitions. Coordinate with suppliers, ad agencies, on ground promotion agencies, productions houses, and government bodies.

Product / Service Research, Survey & Analysis:

- Conceptualize and implement Field Pilot Programs and Product / Service Research Programs to gather VLEs/retailers/ consumers insights, expressions and knowledge.

Market Intelligence and Competitive Mapping:

- Market Research to gain insights on product preferences among consumers. Analyze and understand consumer attitudes and behavior towards competitive product and marketing initiatives.

- Study global marketing trends in the rural space for social impact, competition benchmarking, market share analysis and loss of opportunity review. Keep track of competitors marketing strategies. Constant monitoring of Brand Health status.

MIS and Reports:

- Align MIS with the strategy and plan to provide insight on marketing performance, ROI and contribution to revenue.

- Update various forms of database of VLEs, retailers, consumers, suppliers, product/service partners, distributors, product/service wise price trends, and expiry and create critical and regular reports for management decision-making. Prepare periodic reports for QRMs, Annual meeting and pre and post event analysis meets.

Experience: 3 - 5 Years

Industry Knowledge:

- Preference to the candidates who have worked with top organizations in the rural marketing space. Other industry exposure candidates may also be considered. In such case, preference will be given to FMCG and Service Sector exposure.

Functional Expertise:

- Should have prepared strategy to manage marketing communication, brands building process, directly, as part of the responsibility

- At least 5 years of experience in the field of communications and ability to demonstrate knowledge of a broad range of communications activities media, websites, publications, marketing, social media, events, etc.

- Proven and demonstrable experience of working with a wide range of media, developing media strategies and relations, preparing press releases, etc.

- Proven and demonstrable experience of editing and producing publications.

- Experience working with websites, including web development, producing content for the web, etc.

- Proven experience working with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

- Experience working with e-communications, including preparing and sending E-Bulletins, supporter updates, Appeals, etc.

- Strong knowledge of direct marketing, market research, and digital advertising channels. Demonstrated ability to develop creative and innovative approaches to marketing and communication.

- Must be highly organized, resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple high-priority communication projects simultaneously from conception to completion.

- Should have practical exposure of statistical tools, writing research reports and other nuances of a marketing communication projects.

- Should have an exposure to legal aspects of contracting, agreements etc.

- Should have managed Pre-Sales, directly, indirectly as part of the responsibility
