Over all in charge of operational, maintenance and development activities within department.  2. Responsible for initiating, planning and execution of all activities and monitoring the performance after implementing them in the department.  3. Motivate his sub-ordinates and the employees in his department so that the said goals of the Management are achieved in the most satisfied way.  4. Responsible for procurement and maintaining of all spares in the department so that the day to day routine and other planned maintenance activities of his department do not get affected.   5. Responsible for smooth functioning of all the sections within department.  6. Plan for continuous development / improvements to reduce cost of production and increase profitability of the Company.  7. Optimum utilization of available resources keeping cost under control, effective measures to be implemented for cost control within the department.  8. Should have the vision of coming years and plan the action plan to achieve the targets of the Company.  9. Responsible for dept. Budget preparation, monitoring and controlling  10. Should plan for manpower requirement of department and assists the Management in placements.  11. Should identify strengths and weaknesses of the employees within the department and impart required training to them.  12. Impart safety precautions in all the activities of the department. He should also ensure good housekeeping.  13. Has to maintain cordial relations with all other departments for combined and smooth achievement of the goals and targets set by the organization within the specified periods.  14. Responsible for successful implementation of ISO certification and TPM policies pertaining to his department. He has to liaison with all the Government / Semi-Government Agencies with respect to the functioning of his Department.  15.
