BASIC ROLE DETAILS:

Position Title: Manager - Raw Materials

Division/ Department: T & H, Material

Location : Thane

This Role Reports to: Sr Manger Materials (Thane)

This Role Supervises Supply Chain interfaces with various Manufacturing plant, Finance, and Service. It participates in activities including new supplier development, payments and other commercial formalities.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

- Plays an important and critical role to ensure success in streamlining the function across the organization through alignment of all policies / procedures / SOPs in line with the organization initiatives by ensuring that necessary controls are put in place wherever required

IDEAL PROFILE:

Educational Qualification :

- B.E./B.Tech. with specialization in Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engineering, from a State/Govt. recognized University

- Post Graduation in Supply Chain Management from recognized institute

Work Experience Required (In yrs.)

- The incumbent should have minimum 10 years experience in handling Supply Chain Function at a senior level of atleast a medium sized organization

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities: (Indicate Key Deliverables for this position)

SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT :

- Map vendor capability vis-a-vis requirements and selection of vendors prior to issue of purchase Order

- Periodic evaluation of Vendor Base through audits and support for process improvements

- Rationalize vendor base for competitive price, risk mitigation, lower cycle time

SOURCING :

- To lead a team of sourcing executives by providing policy decisions for all sourcing related issues including alternate sourcing from China.

- Guide and monitor in establishing process for Vendor Selection, evaluation and assessment.

MATERIALS PLANNING :

- To establish process and controls for various masters and periodic clean up of the data base

- Regular interaction with manufacturing plant on monthly requirements.

CONTROLS :

- Establish SOPs wherever required

- Follow necessary authorization matrix and controls in SAP.

- SOP should be considered while devising controls in SAP.

CONTRACTS :

- Guidelines to be made contracts and any amendments / renewals to be carried out.

- Establish Contract Review process for all major vendors for contract compliance

COST REDUCTION AND VALUE ENGINEERING :

- Implement Cost Reduction initiatives through :

- alternate sourcing,

- monitoring the market trends for various commodities,

- vendor rationalization, raw material standardization, and so on

- Drive VA/VE projects.

PROCUREMENT :

- Purchase Orders to be placed in timely manner and delivery tracking mechanism to be established

- Inventory to be monitored and periodic correction to be done as required

- Support disposal actions wherever required

- Take up with suppliers for necessary corrective actions in case of any quality issues.

External Suppliers Local as well as international suppliers. Handling supplier visits, review with them on various performance parameters.

Internal Marketing & New Product Devp. With marketing for review on delivery, quality and new initiatives. With NPD for new product introduction,

- Strong analytical skills to support assessments and providing recommendations

- Strong negotiation skills

- Mastery in Supply Chain Management & Vendor Management

- Strong in designing and establishing systems

- Strong communication & negotiation Skills to enable decision making and trade offs

- Ability to work effectively with senior leadership, middle management and junior teams

- Should be able to provide strong mentorship and guidance to the Materials Team
